يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِهِۦ عِلْمًا

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

He knows all that is before them and all that is behind them, but they cannot compass it with their knowledge.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

وہ جانتا ہے جو اُن کے سامنے ہے اور جو اُن کے پیچھے ہے جبکہ وہ اس کا علم کے ذریعہ کوئی احاطہ نہیں کرسکتے۔

Il sait tout ce qui est devant eux, et tout ce qui est derrière eux, mais ils ne peuvent cerner cela de leur savoir.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

وہ جو کچھ ان کے آگے آنے والا ہے اس کو بھی جانتا ہے اور جو کچھ ان کے پیچھے گذر چکا ہے اس کو بھی جانتا ہے اور وہ اپنے علم کے ذریعہ سے اس (خدا) کا احاطہ نہیں کر سکتے۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

[a]He knows all that is before them and all that is behind them,[1854] but they cannot compass it with their knowledge.

2:256; 21:29.

The words 'all that is behind them' refer to great accomplishments they will have already made, and the words 'that is before them' refer to the great achievements they will aspire to make in the future.

English - Five Volume Translation

Commentary:

The allusion in the verse seems to be to the great material achievements of the western nations. The words "all that is behind them" refer to the great accomplishments that they will already have made in the past and the words "that is before them" refer to the great achievements they will aspire to make in the future.

وہ لوگوں کا اگلا پچھلا سب حال جانتا ہے اور دُوسروں کو اس کا پورا عِلم نہیں ہے
