قَالُوۡۤا اَرۡجِہۡ وَاَخَاہُ وَابۡعَثۡ فِی الۡمَدَآئِنِ حٰشِرِیۡنَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

They said, ‘Put him off and his brother awhile and send into the cities summoners,

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

انہوں نے کہا اس کو اور اس کے بھائی کو کچھ مہلت دے اور شہروں میں اکٹھا کرنے والے بھیج دے۔

Ils dirent : « Renvoie-les, lui et son frère pour le moment, et envoie dans les villes des convocateurs,

Sie sprachen: "Halte ihn und seinen Bruder hin und sende Ausrufer in die Städte,

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

انہوں نے کہا‘ اس کو اور اس کے بھائی کو (کچھ دن) ڈھیل دے اور مختلف شہروں[1] کی طرف آدمی بھجوا جو (قابل آدمیوں کو) جمع کر سکیں۔

فِی الْمدَآئِنِ میں فِیْ بمعنے اِلٰی ہے۔ چنانچہ لغت میں لکھا ہے مُرَادِفَۃُ اِلٰی نَحْوَ فَرَدُّوْا اَیْدِیَـھُمْ فِیْ اَفْوَاھِھِمْ اَیْ اِلَیْھَا یعنی فِیْ بعض اوقات اِلٰی کے معنوں میں بھی آجاتا ہے جیسے آیت فَرَدُّوْا اَیْدِیَھُمْ فِیْ اَفْوَاھِھِمْ میں ہے۔
