وَاِنۡ تُکَذِّبُوۡا فَقَدۡ کَذَّبَ اُمَمٌ مِّنۡ قَبۡلِکُمۡ ۖ وَمَا عَلَی الرَّسُوۡلِ اِلَّا الۡبَلٰغُ الۡمُبِیۡنُ
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
‘And if you reject, then generations before you also rejected. And the Messenger is only responsible for the clear conveying of the Message.
اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ
اور اگر تم تکذیب کرو تو تم سے پہلے بھی کئی اُمّتیں تکذیب کر چکی ہیں۔ اور پیغمبر پر کھلا کھلا پیغام پہنچانے کے سوا کچھ فرض نہیں۔
French
Et si vous rejetez la vérité, alors des générations avant vous l’ont rejetée aussi. Et le Messager n’est responsable que de la transmission claire du Message. »

Und wenn ihr verwerft, so haben Geschlechter vor euch (auch) schon verworfen. Und dem Gesandten obliegt nur die deutliche Verkündigung."

如果你们诬指我的话是虚伪的, 那么, (这不是新奇的事。) 在你们之前的民族也曾诬指 (他们的使者) 说谎。[b]使者的责任只是明白地传达使命, (而不强迫人们信从。)

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر
اور اگر تم میری بات کو جھوٹا قرار دو تو (یہ کوئی نئی بات نہیں) تم سے پہلی قوموں نے بھی (اپنے رسولوں کو) جھٹلایا تھا اور رسول کا کام تو صرف کھول کھول کر پہنچانا ہوتا ہے (زبردستی منوانا نہیں ہوتا)
English - Short Commentary Translation
And if you reject the truth, then the generations before you also rejected it. And [c]the Messenger is only responsible for the clear delivery of the Message.

Commentary:
After citing the cases of Noah and Abraham, the Surah proceeds to comfort the Holy Prophet that if he has been rejected and accused of falsehood, great Prophets before him like Noah and Abraham were also rejected.
اردو ترجمہ مودودی
اور اگر تم جھٹلاتے ہو تو تم سے پہلے بہت سی قومیں جھٹلا چکی ہیں، اور رسول پر صاف صاف پیغام پہنچا دینے کے سوا کوئی ذمّہ داری نہیں ہے"
English - Sahih
And if you [people] deny [the message] - already nations before you have denied. And there is not upon the Messenger except [the duty of] clear notification.

اور اگر تم جھٹلاؤ تو تم سے پہلے بہت سی جماعتیں جھٹلا چکی ہیں اور رسول کے ذمہ تو بس کھول کر پہنچا دینا ہی ہے
