29:56

يَوْمَ يَغْشَىٰهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ مِن فَوْقِهِمْ وَمِن تَحْتِ أَرْجُلِهِمْ وَيَقُولُ ذُوقُوا۟ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

Remember the day when the punishment will overwhelm them from above them and from underneath their feet, and He will say, ‘Taste ye the fruit of your actions.’

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

جس دن عذاب ان کو اوپر سے بھی ڈھانک لے گا اور ان کے پاؤں کے نیچے سے بھی اور (اللہ) کہے گا کہ جو کچھ تم کیا کرتے تھے اسے چکھو۔

French

Le jour où le châtiment les enveloppera au-dessus d’eux et de dessous leurs pieds, et Il dira : « Goûtez les fruits de vos actions. »

German

an dem Tage, da die Strafe sie überwältigen wird von oben her und von ihren Füßen her, und Er wird sprechen: "Kostet nun (die Früchte) eurer Taten."

[d]那天惩罚将从他们的上面和他们的脚下[984]包围他们。他 (安拉) 将说: “尝受你们行为的结果吧!”

安拉的惩罚降临时, 像洪水那样迅猛地从各个方向摧毁不信的人。

Italian

Ricordati del giorno in cui saranno sopraffatti dal castigo dall'alto e da sotto i loro piedi, ed Egli dirà: «Assaggiate il frutto delle vostre azioni.»

Spanish

Recuerda el día en que el escarmiento les sobrevendrá esde arriba y desde debajo de sus pies, y Él dirá: “Probad el fruto de vuestras acciones”.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

جس دن (کہ جہنم کا عذاب کافروں کو گھیر کر تباہ کر دے گا) (یہ وہ دن ہوگا کہ خدائی) عذاب ان کے اوپر سے بھی انہیں ڈھانک لے گا اور ان کے پاؤں کے نیچے سے نکل کر بھی ان کو گھیر لے گا اور (خدا) کہے گا۔ اپنے عملوں کا نتیجہ چکھو۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

[d]On the day when the punishment will overwhelm them from above them and from underneath their feet,[2262] and He will say, ‘Taste ye the fruit of your actions.’

6:9.

When Divine punishment comes, it is sudden and swift and like a cataract overwhelms disbelievers from every direction.

English - Five Volume Translation

[b]On the day when the punishment will overwhelm them from above them and from underneath their feet, and He will say, ‘Taste ye the fruit of your actions.’[2979]

Commentary:

The verse purports to say that God is Compassionate and Merciful. He is very slow in sending down punishment. He delays and defers it. But when the iniquity and transgressions of evildoers exceed all legitimate bounds and they throw all decency and propriety to the winds and set their face against God and His Prophets and His laws, then God’s wrath is kindled and punishment overtakes them. It is sudden and swift and like a cataract overwhelms them from every direction.

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

(اور انہیں پتہ چلے گا) اُس روز جبکہ عذاب انہیں اُوپر سے بھی ڈھانک لے گا اور پاؤں کے نیچے سے بھی اور کہے گا کہ اب چکھو مزا ان کرتوتوں کا جو تم کرتے تھے

English - Sahih

On the Day the punishment will cover them from above them and from below their feet and it is said, "Taste [the result of] what you used to do."

جس دن عذاب انہیں ان کے اوپر سے اور پاؤں کے نیچے سے گھیر لے گا اور کہے گا جو تم کیا کرتے تھے اس کا مزہ چکھو
