33:67

يَوْمَ تُقَلَّبُ وُجُوهُهُمْ فِى ٱلنَّارِ يَقُولُونَ يَٰلَيْتَنَآ أَطَعْنَا ٱللَّهَ وَأَطَعْنَا ٱلرَّسُولَا۠

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

On the day when their faces are turned over in the Fire, they will say, ‘Oh, would that we had obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger!’

جس دن ان کے چہرے جہنم میں اوندھے کئے جائیں گے وہ کہیں گے اے کاش! ہم اللہ کی اطاعت کرتے اور رسول کی اطاعت کرتے۔

French

Le jour où leur visage sera tourné et retourné dans le Feu, ils diront : « Hélas pour nous ! Que n’avions-nous obéi à Allāh, et obéi au Messager ! »

German

An dem Tage, da ihre Führer im Feuer gewendet werden, da werden sie sprechen: "O dass wir doch Allah gehorcht hatten und gehorcht dem Gesandten!"

Chinese

在他们的脸被翻转入火中的那一天, 他们将说: [d]“唉! 要是我们服从了安拉, 服从了使者, 多好啊!”

Italian

Nel giorno in cui i loro volti saranno rivoltati nel fuoco, diranno: «Ahimè! Avessimo obbedito ad Allah e avessimo obbedito al Suo messaggero!»

Spanish

En el día en que sus rostros sean vueltos hacia el Fuego, dirán: “¡Oh, ojalá hubiésemos obedecido a Al‑lah y al Mensajero!”.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

جس دن ان کے بڑے بڑے آدمیوں کو آگ پر اُلٹایا پَلٹایا[1] جائے گا۔ اور وہ کہیں گے اے کاش! ہم اللہ اور اس کے رسول کی اطاعت کر لیتے۔

جس طرح سیخی کباب کو الٹایا پلٹایا جاتا ہے۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

On the day when their faces are turned over into the fire, they will say, [c]‘O, would that we had obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger!’

25:28.

English - Five Volume Translation

On the day when their faces are turned over in the fire, they will say, [a]‘O, would that we had obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger!’[3124]

Important Words:

وجوہ (faces) is the plural of وجه which means face, direction; object and motive; deed or action to which a person directs his attention; the thing itself; the desired way. وجوہ also means leaders; prominent persons. The word seems to have been used in this sense in the present verse. See also 2:113, 149.

جس روز ان کے چہرے آگ پر الٹ پلٹ کیے جائیں گے اُس وقت وہ کہیں گے کہ "کاش ہم نے اللہ اور رسولؐ کی اطاعت کی ہوتی"

English - Sahih

The Day their faces will be turned about in the Fire, they will say, "How we wish we had obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger."

جس دن ان کے منہ آگ میں الٹ دیے جائیں گے کہیں گے اے کاش ہم نے الله اور رسول کا کہا مانا ہوتا

(The) Day will be turned about their faces in the Fire they will say, "O we wish we (had) obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger!"

On that Day when their faces shall be turned around in the Fire, they will say: “Would that we had obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger.”

The day their faces would be turned on the fire (as on a spit), they will say: "Alas! If only we had obeyed God, and obeyed the Prophet."
