35:38
وَهُمْ يَصْطَرِخُونَ فِيهَا رَبَّنَآ أَخْرِجْنَا نَعْمَلْ صَٰلِحًا غَيْرَ ٱلَّذِى كُنَّا نَعْمَلُ ۚ أَوَلَمْ نُعَمِّرْكُم مَّا يَتَذَكَّرُ فِيهِ مَن تَذَكَّرَ وَجَآءَكُمُ ٱلنَّذِيرُ ۖ فَذُوقُوا۟ فَمَا لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ مِن نَّصِيرٍ
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
And they will cry for help therein, ‘O our Lord, take us out, we will do righteous works other than those we used to do.’ ‘Did We not give you a life long enough so that he who would reflect could reflect therein? And there came unto you a Warner too. So taste ye the punishment; for wrongdoers have no helper.’
اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ
اور وہ اس میں چیخ رہے ہوں گے۔ اے ہمارے ربّ! ہمیں نکال لے۔ ہم نیک اعمال بجا لائیں گے جو اُن سے مختلف ہوں گے جو ہم کیا کرتے تھے۔ کیا ہم نے تمہیں اتنی عمر نہیں دی تھی کہ جس میں کوئی نصیحت پکڑنے والا نصیحت پکڑ سکے؟ نیز تمہارے پاس ایک ڈرانے والا بھی آیا تھا۔ پس چکھو (اپنے ظلم کا بدلہ) اور ظلم کرنے والوں کے حق میں کوئی مددگار نہیں۔
French
Et là ils hurleront : « Notre Seigneur, fais-nous sortir, nous ferons de bonnes œuvres différentes de celles que nous faisions. » « Ne vous avons-Nous pas accordé une vie assez longue pour que réfléchisse celui qui voulait réfléchir ? Et l’Avertisseur vous était venu. Goûtez donc le châtiment ; car les injustes n’ont aucun aide. »
German
Und sie werden darin schreien: "Unser Herr, bringe uns heraus, wir wollen rechtschaffene Werke tun, anders als wir zu tun pflegten." "Gaben Wir euch nicht ein genügend langes Leben, dass ein jeder, der sich besinnen wollte, sich darin besinnen konnte? Und (überdies) kam der Warner zu euch. So kostet nun (die Strafe): denn Frevler haben keinen Helfer."

他们在那里 (火狱中) 呼救: “我们的养主啊, 放我们出去吧! [e]我们将一反以前的作为, 必做善功。” (我将回答他们说:) 我没曾给你们那么长的寿命, 以便有心接受劝告的人接受劝告? 而且警告者也曾来到你们中间, (你们为什么不相信他们的话?) 所以 (现在就让) 你们尝受 (这个惩罚吧!) 不义的人是没有帮助者的。

Ed essi, di là dentro, invocheranno aiuto: «Signore nostro, tiraci fuori di qui. Faremo opere giuste, diversamente da quanto eravamo soliti fare.» Allah risponderà loro: «Non vi abbiamo dato forse una vita abbastanza lunga perché, chi lo volesse, potesse riflettere? E per di più è venuto a voi un ammonitore. Gustate dunque il castigo, perché i cattivi non hanno chi li aiuti.»
Spanish
Gritarán allí pidiendo ayuda: “Oh, Señor nuestro, sácanos; haremos obras justas, distintas a las que solíamos hacer”. “¿Acaso no os dimos una vida suficientemente larga para que reflexionara en ella quien pudiera reflexionar? Y también os llegó un Amonestador. Probad pues el castigo; pues los injustos no tendrán quien les ayude”.
اردو تفسیرِ صغیر
اور وہ اس (جہنم) میں چلائیں گے (اور کہیں گے) اے ہمارے رب! ہم کو اس جہنم سے نکال دے تو ہم (مومنوں کی طرح) نیک کام کریں گے‘ ان سے مختلف جو ہم پہلی زندگی میں کیا کرتے تھے (ہم ان سے کہیں گے) کیا ہم نے تم کو اتنی عمر نہیں دی تھی جس میں نصیحت حاصل کرنے کا خواہش مند نصیحت حاصل کر لیتا ہے اور تمہارے پاس ہوشیار کرنے والے (بھی) تو آئے تھے (پھر تم نے ان کی بات کیوں نہ مانی) پس (اب یہ) عذاب چکھو کہ ظالموں کا کوئی مددگار نہیں ہوتا۔
English - Short Commentary Translation
And they will cry for help therein: ‘Our Lord, take us out, [c]we will do righteous deeds other than those we used to do.’ Allah will say to them, ‘Did We not give you a life long enough so that he, who would take heed, could take heed therein? And there came unto you a Warner too. So taste ye the punishment; for wrongdoers have no helper.’

And they will cry for help therein, ‘Our Lord, [c]take us out, we will do righteous works other than those we used to do.’ God will say to them, ‘Did We not give you a life long enough so that he who would take heed could take heed therein? And there came unto you a Warner too. So taste ye the punishment; for wrongdoers have no helper.’[3205]

Important Words:
یصطرخون (cry for help) is derived from اصطرخ which is synonymous with صرخ which means, he raised his voice; called out; cried or cried vehemently or for help (Lane).
اردو ترجمہ مودودی
وہ وہاں چیخ چیخ کر کہیں گے کہ "اے ہمارے رب، ہمیں یہاں سے نکال لے تاکہ ہم نیک عمل کریں اُن اعمال سے مختلف جو پہلے کرتے رہے تھے" (انہیں جواب دیا جائے گا) "کیا ہم نے تم کو اتنی عمر نہ دی تھی جس میں کوئی سبق لینا چاہتا تو سبق لے سکتاتھا؟ اور تمہارے پاس متنبہ کرنے والا بھی آ چکا تھا اب مزا چکھو ظالموں کا یہاں کوئی مددگار نہیں ہے"
English - Sahih
And they will cry out therein, "Our Lord, remove us; we will do righteousness - other than what we were doing!" But did We not grant you life enough for whoever would remember therein to remember, and the warner had come to you? So taste [the punishment], for there is not for the wrongdoers any helper.

اوروہ اس میں چلائیں گے کہ اے ہمارے رب ہمیں نکال ہم نیک کام کریں برخلاف ان کاموں کے جو کیا کرتے تھے کیا ہم نےتمہیں اتنی عمر نہیں دی تھی جس میں سمجھنے والا سمجھ سکتا تھا اور تمہارے پاس ڈرانے والا آیا تھا پس مزہ چکھو پس ظالموں کا کوئی مددگار نہیں

And they will cry therein, "Our Lord! Bring us out; we will do righteous (deeds) other than (that) which we used (to) do." Did not We give you life long enough that (would) receive admonition therein whoever receives admonition? And came to you the warner. So taste, then not (is) for the wrongdoers any helper.

English - Arberry
Therein they shall shout, 'Our Lord, bring us forth, and we will do righteousness, other than what we have done.' 'What, did We not give you long life, enough to remember in for him who would remember? To you the warner came; taste you now! The evildoers shall have no helper.'
English - Maududi
They will cry out in Hell and say: “Our Lord, let us out so that we may act righteously, different from what we did before.” (They will be told): “Did we not grant you an age long enough for anyone to take heed if he had wanted to take heed? Besides, there came a warner to you. So have a taste of the torment now. None may come to the help of the wrong-doers.”

There they will cry for help: "O Lord, get us out that we may do the right, and not what we used to do." Did We not give you a long enough span of life so that he who remembered may reflect? And did not the warner come to you? So now taste (the punishment). The iniquitous will have none to help them.

Therein will they cry aloud (for assistance): "Our Lord! Bring us out: we shall work righteousness, not the (deeds) we used to do!" - "Did We not give you long enough life so that he that would should receive admonition? and (moreover) the warner came to you.
