72:8

وَأَنَّهُمْ ظَنُّوا۟ كَمَا ظَنَنتُمْ أَن لَّن يَبْعَثَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدًا

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

‘And indeed they thought, even as you think, that Allah would never raise any Messenger.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور اُنہوں نے بھی گمان کیا تھا جیسے تم نے گمان کرلیا کہ اللہ ہرگز کسی کو مبعوث نہیں کرے گا۔

French

Et, en vérité, ils pensaient, tout comme vous le pensez, qu’Allāh ne susciterait jamais quelqu’un en tant que Messager.

German

und freilich dachten sie, ebenso wie ihr denket, Allah würde nie einen (Propheten) erwecken.

“的确, 他们 (犹太人) 和你们一样, 都以为安拉将永远不会派遣任何使者,

Italian

Essi pensavano, in effetti, come pensate voi, che Allah non avrebbe mai fatto suscitare alcun messaggero.

“Y ciertamente pensaron, al igual que pensáis vosotros, que Al-lah nunca suscitaría a ningún Mensajero”.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور یقیناً وہ بھی یہی گمان کیا کرتے تھے جیسا کہ تم گمان کرتے ہو کہ اللہ (تعالیٰ) آئندہ کبھی کسی کو بنا کر[1]مبعوث نہیں کرے گا۔

ہم نے کہا ہے کہ وہ یہود تھے۔ اس کی سند قرآن مجید سے ملتی ہے۔ وہ فرماتا ہے کہ حَتّٰی اِذَا ھَلَکَ قُلْتُمْ لَنْ یَّبْعَثَ اللّٰہُ مِنْم بَعْدِہٖ رَسُوْلًا (سورۃ مومن آیت۳۵) کہ جب یوسفؑ فوت ہو گیا تو تم نے کہا آئندہ اب کوئی رسول نہیں آئے گا۔ اس جگہ بھی ان جِنّوں کے منہ سے اسی عقیدہ کو دہرایا گیا ہے کہ تم یقین رکھتے تھے کہ آئندہ اللہ تعالیٰ کسی کو نبی نہیں بنائے گا۔ کیونکہ خَاتَمَ النَّبِیِّیْنَ آچکا ہے۔ مسلمان اس آیت پر غور کریں اور اپنے انجام کو سوچیں۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

‘And, indeed, they thought, even as you think that Allah would never raise any Messenger,[3140]

The Jews had ceased to believe as early as in the time of the Prophet Joseph that any Divine Messenger would ever appear after him (40:35).

English - Five Volume Translation

And indeed they thought, even as you think, that Allah would never raise any Messenger.[4401A]

The Jews had ceased to believe as early as in the time of the Prophet Joseph that no Divine Messenger would ever appear after him (40:35).

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

اور یہ کہ "انسانوں نے بھی وہی گمان کیا جیسا تمہارا گمان تھا کہ اللہ کسی کو رسول بنا کر نہ بھیجے گا"

And they had thought, as you thought, that Allah would never send anyone [as a messenger].

اور وہ بھی سمجھے ہوئے تھے جیسا کہ تم نے سمجھ رکھا ہے کہ الله ہر گز کسی کو (رسول بنا کر) نہ بھیجحے گا
