فَلْيَضْحَكُوا۟ قَلِيلًا وَلْيَبْكُوا۟ كَثِيرًا جَزَآءًۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

They must laugh little and weep much as a reward for that which they used to earn.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

پس چاہئے کہ وہ تھوڑا ہنسیں اور زیادہ روئیں، اُس کی جزا کے طور پر جو وہ کسب کیا کرتے تھے۔

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

پس چاہیے کہ (اپنی اس فریب دہی پر) وہ تھوڑا ہنسیں اور اپنے عمل کی جزا پر زیادہ روئیں۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

They should laugh little and weep much[1203] as a reward for that which they used to earn.

The verse obviously does not contain a commandment. It only embodies a prophecy that the time was soon coming when the Hypocrites will laugh little and weep much.

They must laugh little and weep much as a reward for that which they used to earn.[1234]

The verse obviously does not contain a commandment. It only embodies a prophecy that the time was soon coming when the hypocrites would laugh little and weep much. This was meant as retribution for their evil deeds.

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

اب چاہیے کہ یہ لوگ ہنسنا کم کریں اور روئیں زیادہ، اس لیے کہ جو بدی یہ کماتے رہے ہیں اس کی جزا ایسی ہی ہے (کہ انہیں اس پر رونا چاہیے)
