And she said to his sister, ‘Follow him up.’ So she observed him from afar; and they knew not of her relationship.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور اُس (یعنی موسیٰ کی ماں) نے اُس کی بہن سے کہا کہ اس کے پیچھے پیچھے جا۔ پس وہ دُور سے اُسے دیکھتی رہی اور انہیں کچھ پتہ نہ تھا۔

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور اس (یعنی موسیٰ کی ماں) نے اس (یعنی موسیٰ) کی بہن سے کہا کہ اس کے پیچھے پیچھے جا۔ پس وہ اس کو دُور سے دیکھتی رہی اور وہ (یعنی فرعون کے لوگ) بے خبر تھے۔

And she said to his sister, ‘Follow him up.’ So she observed him from afar; and they were unaware of this.

English - Five Volume Translation

And she said to his sister, ‘Follow him up.’ So she observed him from afar; and they knew not of her relationship.[2885A]

Important Words:

قصیه (follow him up) is derived from قص. They say قصه i.e. he cut it; or he clipped it. قص أثرہ means, he followed, or followed after, his track, or footsteps, in pursuit; he endeavoured to trace or track him; he endeavoured to trace him by degrees, or by night or at any time (Lane & Aqrab). See also 7:177 & 12:4.

اُس نے بچے کی بہن سے کہا اس کے پیچھے پیچھے جا چنانچہ وہ الگ سے اس کو اس طرح دیکھتی رہی کہ (دشمنوں کو) اس کا پتہ نہ چلا

English - Sahih

And she said to his sister, "Follow him"; so she watched him from a distance while they perceived not.

اور اس کی بہن سے کہا اس کے پیچھے چلی جا پھر اسے اجنبی ہو کر دیکھتی رہی اور انہیں خبر نہ ہوئی
