وَلَا تُصَلِّ عَلَىٰٓ أَحَدٍ مِّنْهُم مَّاتَ أَبَدًا وَلَا تَقُمْ عَلَىٰ قَبْرِهِۦٓ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَفَرُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ وَمَاتُوا۟ وَهُمْ فَٰسِقُونَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And never pray thou for any of them that dies, nor stand by his grave; for they disbelieved in Allah and His Messenger and died while they were disobedient.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور تُو ان میں سے کسی مرنے والے پر کبھی (جنازہ کی) نماز نہ پڑھ اور کبھی اس کی قبر پر (دعا کے لئے) کھڑا نہ ہو۔ یقیناً انہوں نے اللہ اور اس کے رسول کا انکار کر دیا ہے اور وہ اس حالت میں مرے کہ وہ بدکردار تھے۔

French

N’offre jamais la prière sur aucun d’entre eux lorsqu’il meurt, et ne te tiens pas non plus auprès de sa tombe pour prier ; car ils n’ont pas cru en Allāh et en Son Messager et ils sont morts alors qu’ils étaient désobéissants.

Und bete nie für einen von ihnen, der stirbt, noch stehe an seinem Grabe; sie glaubten nicht an Allah und Seinen Gesandten, und sie starben im Ungehorsam.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور ان میں سے اگر کوئی مر جائے تو اس پر نماز (جنازہ) نہ پڑھا کر۔ اور نہ اس کی قبر پر (دعا کے لئے) کھڑا ہوا کر۔ کیوں کہ انہوں نے اللہ اور اس کے رسول کا انکار کیا اور ایسی حالت میں مرے ہیں‘ جب کہ وہ اطاعت سے خارج ہو رہے تھے۔

And never pray thou for any of them that dies, nor stand by his grave; for they disbelieved in Allah and His Messenger and died while they were disobedient.[1236]

Commentary:

This verse prohibits Muslims from saying the funeral Prayer for hypocrites who are disbelievers at heart. When 9:80 was revealed, the Holy Prophet thought that it was still open to him to perform the funeral service of a hypocrite if he should so choose; and when therefore ‘Abdullah bin Ubayy died, he performed the service for him. By the present verse, however, God definitely forbade the performance of funeral service for disbelieving hypocrites. As a matter of principle, he who dies in a state of disbelief (whether he be an open disbeliever or a proved hypocrite) forfeits all claims on the prayers of the Faithful. His case is in the hands of God. He may punish or forgive him, as He may think fit. See also 9:80 above.

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

اور آئندہ ان میں سے جو کوئی مرے اس کی نماز جنازہ بھی تم ہرگز نہ پڑھنا اور نہ کبھی اس کی قبر پر کھڑے ہونا کیونکہ انہوں نے اللہ اور اس کے رسولؐ کے ساتھ کفر کیا ہے اور وہ مرے ہیں اس حال میں کہ وہ فاسق تھے

English - Sahih

And do not pray [the funeral prayer, O Muhammad], over any of them who has died - ever - or stand at his grave. Indeed, they disbelieved in Allah and His Messenger and died while they were defiantly disobedient.

اوران میں سے جو مرجائے کسی پر کبھی نماز نہ پڑھ اور نہ اس کی قبر پر کھڑا ہو بے شک انہوں نے الله اور اس کے رسول سے کفر کیا اور نافرمانی کی حالت میں مر گئے

And not you pray for any of them who dies, ever, and not you stand by his grave. Indeed, they disbelieved in Allah and His Messenger, and died while they were defiantly disobedient.
