وَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مُّؤۡمِنٌ مِّنۡ اٰلِ فِرۡعَوۡنَ یَکۡتُمُ اِیۡمٰنَہٗۤ اَتَقۡتُلُوۡنَ رَجُلًا اَنۡ یَّقُوۡلَ رَبِّیَ اللّٰہُ وَقَدۡ جَآءَکُمۡ بِالۡبَیِّنٰتِ مِنۡ رَّبِّکُمۡ ۖ وَاِنۡ یَّکُ کٰذِبًا فَعَلَیۡہِ کَذِبُہٗ ۖ وَاِنۡ یَّکُ صَادِقًا یُّصِبۡکُمۡ بَعۡضُ الَّذِیۡ یَعِدُکُمۡ ۖ اِنَّ اللّٰہَ لَا یَہۡدِیۡ مَنۡ ہُوَ مُسۡرِفٌ کَذَّابٌ
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
And a believing man from among the people of Pharaoh, who concealed his faith, said, “Will you slay a man because he says, ‘My Lord is Allah,’ while he has brought you clear proofs from your Lord? And if he be a liar, on him will be the sin of his lie; but if he is truthful, then some of that which he threatens you with will surely befall you. Certainly Allah guides not one who is a transgressor, and a liar.

اور فرعون کی آل میں سے ایک مومن مرد نے کہا جو اپنے ایمان کو چھپائے ہوئے تھا کہ کیا تم محض اس لئے ایک شخص کو قتل کروگے کہ وہ کہتا ہے کہ میرا ربّ اللہ ہے اور وہ تمہارے پاس تمہارے ربّ کی طرف سے کھلے کھلے نشان لے کر آیا ہے۔ اگر وہ جھوٹا نکلا تو یقیناً اُس کا جھوٹ اُسی پر پڑے گا اور اگر وہ سچا ہوا تو جن چیزوں سے وہ تمہیں ڈراتا ہے ان میں سے کچھ ضرور تمہیں آپکڑیں گی۔ یقیناً اللہ اُسے ہدایت نہیں دیا کرتا جو حد سے بڑھا ہوا (اور) سخت جھوٹا ہو۔
French
Et un homme croyant parmi le peuple de Pharaon, qui dissimulait sa foi, dit : « Voulez-vous tuer un homme parce qu’il dit : « Mon Seigneur est Allāh, » alors qu’il est venu à vous avec des preuves manifestes de la part de votre Seigneur ? Et s’il est un menteur, alors le péché de son mensonge retombera sur lui, mais s’il est véridique, alors une partie de ce dont il vous menace tombera sûrement sur vous. En vérité, Allāh ne guide pas celui qui est un transgresseur et un grand menteur.
German
Ein gläubiger Mann von den Leuten Pharaos, der seinen Glauben geheimhielt, sprach: "Wollt ihr einen Menschen töten, weil er spricht: "Mein Herr ist Allah", obwohl er zu euch gekommen ist mit klaren Beweisen von eurem Herrn? Wenn er ein Lügner ist, so ist seine Lüge auf ihm; ist er aber wahrhaftig, dann wird euch ein Teil von dem treffen, was er euch androht. Fürwahr, Allah weist nicht dem den Weg, der maßlos (und) ein Lügner ist.

法老族中一个秘密归信的男子说: “你们要杀一个人, 只因为他说: ‘我的养主是安拉’, 同时, 他从你们的养主那里还带来了明证? [e]假如他是说谎者, 那么, 他的说谎只害他自己; 假如他是一个诚实者, 那么, 他所用以恐吓你们的 (惩罚), 必将有一部分降临你们。安拉一定不领导过度的, 常说假话的人。”

E un credente tra il popolo del Faraone, che aveva tenuto nascosta la propria fede, disse: «Vorrete uccidere un uomo perché ha detto: 'Il mio Signore è Allah', quando vi ha portato anche prove chiare da parte del vostro Signore? Se fosse un bugiardo, il peccato della sua menzogna ricadrebbe su di lui. Ma se dice la verità, allora state certi che qualcosa di ciò che vi minaccia vi accadrà. Certamente, Allah non guida chi è un trasgressore e un bugiardo.
Spanish
Un hombre creyente de entre el pueblo del Faraón, que ocultaba su fe, dijo: “¿Vais a matar a un hombre porque dice: “mi Señor es Al-lah”, al tiempo que os ha presentado pruebas claras de vuestro Señor? Si fuese un mentiroso, que caiga sobre él el pecado de su mentira; pero si es veraz, algo de aquello con lo que os ha amenazado caerá ciertamente sobre vosotros. En verdad Al-lah no guía a quien es transgresor y mentiroso.
اردو تفسیرِ صغیر
اور آل فرعون میں سے ایک شخص جو ایمان دار تھا‘ مگر اپنا ایمان چھپاتا تھا اس نے کہا اے لوگو! کیا تم ایک آدمی کو صرف اس لئے مارتے ہو کہ وہ کہتا ہے کہ اللہ میرا رب ہے اور وہ تمہارے رب کی طرف سے نشانات بھی لایا ہے اور اگر وہ جھوٹا ہے تو اس کے جھوٹ کا وبال اسی پر پڑے گا اور اگر وہ سچا ہے تو اس کی کی ہوئی بعض (انذاری) پیشگوئیاں تمہارے متعلق پوری ہو جائیں گی۔ اللہ حد سے بڑھے ہوئے اور بہت جھوٹ بولنے والے کو کبھی کامیاب نہیں کرتا[1]۔
یہ مطلب نہیں کہ جو حد سے بڑھ کر جھوٹ بولے‘ اسے کامیاب نہیں کرتا‘ بلکہ عربی زبان میں بعض دفعہ مبالغہ پر نفی لائی جاتی ہے اور مراد یہ ہوتی ہے کہ اس قسم کی تھوڑی سی چیز بھی برداشت نہیں کی جائے گی۔

And a believing man from among the people of Pharaoh, who kept hidden his faith,[2603] said, “Will you slay a man because he says, ‘My Lord is Allah,’ while he has also brought you clear proofs from your Lord? Commentary:
It seems that under the influence of Pharaoh’s wife who was a very righteous woman (66:12) some other members of his household had also believed in Moses and the "believing man" might have been one of them. The good man kept his faith concealed in order to give expression to it on a suitable occasion. The bold manner in which he expressed his belief and spoke to the people of Pharaoh shows that the concealment was not due to fear.
The verse also embodies an infallible criterion to test the truth of the claim of a Divine Reformer viz. that (1) a forger of lies is never allowed to grow and prosper and that (2) the opponents of a Divine Reformer do not go unpunished.

اس موقع پر آل فرعون میں سے ایک مومن شخص، جو اپنا ایمان چھپائے ہوئے تھا، بول اٹھا: "کیا تم ایک شخص کو صرف اِس بنا پر قتل کر دو گے کہ وہ کہتا ہے میرا رب اللہ ہے؟ حالانکہ وہ تمہارے رب کی طرف سے تمہارے پاس بینات لے آیا اگر وہ جھوٹا ہے تو اس کا جھوٹ خود اسی پر پلٹ پڑے گا لیکن اگر وہ سچا ہے تو جن ہولناک نتائج کا وہ تم کو خوف دلاتا ہے ان میں سے کچھ تو تم پر ضرور ہی آ جائیں گے اللہ کسی شخص کو ہدایت نہیں دیتا جو حد سے گزر جانے والا اور کذاب ہو
English - Sahih
And a believing man from the family of Pharaoh who concealed his faith said, "Do you kill a man [merely] because he says, 'My Lord is Allah' while he has brought you clear proofs from your Lord? And if he should be lying, then upon him is [the consequence of] his lie; but if he should be truthful, there will strike you some of what he promises you. Indeed, Allah does not guide one who is a transgressor and a liar.

اور فرعون کی قوم میں سے ایک ایمان دار آدمی نے کہا جو اپنا ایمان چھپاتا تھا کیاتم ایسے آدمی کو قتل کرتے ہو جو یہ کہتا ہے کہ میرا رب الله ہے اوروہ تمہارے پاس وہ روشن دلیلیں تمہارے رب کی طرف سے لایا ہے اور اگر وہ جھوٹا ہے تو اسی پر ا س کے جھوٹ کا وبال ہے اور اگر وہ سچا ہے تو تمہیں کچھ نہ کچھ وہ (عذاب) جس کا وہ تم سے وعدہ کرتا ہے پہنچے گا اور الله اس کو راہ پر نہیں لاتا جو حد سے بڑھنے والا بڑا جھوٹا ہے

And said a man, believing, from (the) family (of) Firaun who conceal(ed) his faith, "Will you kill a man because he says, "My Lord (is) Allah," and indeed he has brought you clear proofs from your Lord? And if he is a liar, then upon him (is) his lie; and if he is truthful, (there) will strike you some (of) (that) which he threatens you. یہ مطلب نہیں کہ جو حد سے بڑھ کر جھوٹ بولے‘ اسے کامیاب نہیں کرتا‘ بلکہ عربی زبان میں بعض دفعہ مبالغہ پر نفی لائی جاتی ہے اور مراد یہ ہوتی ہے کہ اس قسم کی تھوڑی سی چیز بھی برداشت نہیں کی جائے گی۔

Then said a certain man, a believer 'of Pharaoh's folk that kept hidden his belief, 'What, will you slay a man because he says, "My Lord is God," yet he has brought you the clear signs from your Lord? If he is a liar, his lying is upon his own head; but if he is truthful, somewhat of that he promises you will smite you. Surely God guides not him who is prodigal and a liar.

Then a man endowed with faith, from Pharaoh's folk, who had kept his faith hidden, said: “Do you kill a person simply because he says: 'My Lord is Allah' even though he brought to you clear Signs from your Lord? Commentary:

Pharaoh sarcastically said that he wanted to go up to heavens to have a peep at Moses’s God, but God made him see a manifestation of His power in the depths of the sea.

The ways into the heavens - so that I may look at the deity of Moses; but indeed, I think he is a liar." And thus was made attractive to Pharaoh the evil of his deed, and he was averted from the [right] way. And the plan of Pharaoh was not except in ruin.

یعنی آسمان کے راستوں پر پھر موسیٰ کے خدا کی طرف جھانک کر دیکھوں اور میں تو اسے جھوٹا خیال کرتا ہوں اور اسی طرح فرعون کو اس کا برا عمل اچھا معلوم ہوا اور وہ راستہ سے روکا گیا تھا اور فرعون کی ہر تدبیر غارت ہی گئی
