English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And the chiefs of his people, who disbelieved and denied the meeting of the Hereafter and whom We had afforded ease and comfort in this life, said, ‘This is but a man like yourselves. He eats of that of which you eat, and drinks of that of which you drink.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور اس کی قوم کے ان سرداروں نے، جنہوں نے کفر کیا اور لقاءِ آخرت کا انکار کر دیا جبکہ ہم نے دنیا کی زندگی میں ان کو بہت آسودگی بخشی تھی، کہا کہ یہ تو تمہاری طرح کے ایک بشر کے سوا کچھ نہیں۔ انہی چیزوں میں سے کھاتا ہے جن میں سے تم کھاتے ہو اور انہی چیزوں میں سے پیتا ہے جن میں سے تم پیتے ہو۔

French

Et les chefs de son peuple, qui refusaient de croire, et qui niaient la rencontre de l’au-delà, et à qui Nous avions accordé l’aisance en cette vie, dirent : « Ce n’est qu’un homme comme vous. Il mange de ce que vous mangez, et boit de ce que vous buvez.

Pero los jefes de su pueblo, que no creían y negaban la reunión del Más Allá y a quienes habíamos concedido riqueza y comodidad en esta vida, dijeron: “no es más que un hombre como vosotros”. Come de lo que coméis y bebe de lo que bebéis.

اور اس (نئے رسول) کی قوم میں سے جنہوں نے کفر کیا تھا اور بعد الموت خدا سے ملنے کا انکار کیا تھا اور جن کو ہم نے اس دنیا کی زندگی میں مالدار بنایا‘ ان کے سرداروں نے کہا‘ یہ تو تمہارے جیسا ایک آدمی ہے انہی (کھانوں) میں سے کھاتا ہے جو تم کھاتے ہو اور انہی (پانیوں) میں سے پیتا ہے جو تم پیتے ہو۔

Commentary:

It is indeed very strange that the one fact which really goes in favour of Divine Messengers has been advanced by disbelievers throughout the ages as an argument against them, viz. that they were mortals like themselves who ate and drank and were subject to all the demands of nature. All the Messengers were rejected on the basis of this foolish plea. The rejecters never paused to ponder over this simple fact that the object of the raising up of Messengers was that they should have served as a model for men, and how could one who was not human and therefore immune from human weaknesses and frailties, could be a model for human beings? Only a man could be a model for men.

The second reason that has always led disbelievers to reject Divine Messengers is that they (the disbelievers) "have been afforded ease and comfort in this life." Instead of being grateful to God for His manifold favours upon them those very Divine blessings make disbelievers so arrogant and defiant that they reject God’s Messengers.

اُس کی قوم کے جن سرداروں نے ماننے سے انکار کیا اور آخرت کی پیشی کو جھٹلایا، جن کو ہم نے دنیا کی زندگی میں آسودہ کر رکھا تھا، وہ کہنے لگے "یہ شخص کچھ نہیں ہے مگر ایک بشر تم ہی جیسا جو کچھ تم کھاتے ہو وہی یہ کھاتا ہے اور جو کچھ تم پیتے ہو وہی یہ پیتا ہے

And the eminent among his people who disbelieved and denied the meeting of the Hereafter while We had given them luxury in the worldly life said, "This is not but a man like yourselves. He eats of that from which you eat and drinks of what you drink.

كَافُوْر (Kafur) 源出 كَفَرَ (Kafara), 意思是掩护或克制。这节经文的意思是, 饮用樟脑调合的杯子具有降低兽欲的效果。敬畏的信者的心胸因净化一切不洁思想, 并藉安拉深邃的认识的清凉解除情欲的火热。

English - Short Commentary Translation

But the virtuous shall drink of a cup, tempered with camphor—[3192]

Kafur is derived from Kafara which means, to cover or to suppress. The significance of the verse is that the quaffing of camphor-drink will have the effect of cooling down animal passions. The heart of righteous believers will be cleansed of all impure thoughts and they will be refrigerated with the coolness of deep Divine knowledge.

Important Words:

کافورا (camphor) is derived from کفر i.e. to cover or to suppress. The meaning is that the quaffing of camphor-drink will have the effect of cooling down animal passions. The heart of righteous believers will be cleansed of every impure thought and they will be refrigerated with the coolness of deep divine knowledge.

نیک لوگ (جنت میں) شراب کے ایسے ساغر پئیں گے جن میں آب کافور کی آمیزش ہوگی
