[1] هَلَكَ , inf. n. هَلَاكٌ &c., (S, K, &c.,) He, or it, perished, came to nought, came to an end, passed away, was not, was no more, or became non-existent or annihilated: (KL, PS in explanation of هَلاَكٌ, &c.:) or fell: or became in a bad, or corrupt, state; became corrupted, vitiated, marred, or spoiled: or went away, no one knew whither: (Mgh in explanation of هَلاَكٌ:) he died. (K.) ― 2-b2- هَلَكَتْ أَرْضُهُ His land had its herbage dried up by drought: see جَرِبَ.

قُلْ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِنْ أَهْلَكَنِىَ ٱللَّهُ وَمَن مَّعِىَ أَوْ رَحِمَنَا فَمَن يُجِيرُ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ مِنْ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

Say, ‘Tell me, if Allah should destroy me and those who are with me, or have mercy on us, who will protect the disbelievers from a painful punishment?’

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

کہہ دے بتلاؤ تو سہی کہ اگر اللہ مجھے ہلاک کر دے اور اُسے بھی جو میرے ساتھ ہے یا ہم پر رحم کرے تو کافروں کو کون دردناک عذاب سے پناہ دے گا؟

French

Dis : « Dites-moi, si Allāh devait nous anéantir, moi et ceux qui sont avec moi, ou s’Il devait nous montrer de la miséricorde, qui protégerait les mécréants contre un châtiment douloureux ? »

Sprich: "Sagt an, wenn Allah mich vernichten sollte und die mit mir sind, oder wenn Er uns Barmherzigkeit erweisen sollte, wer wird die Ungläubigen vor qualvoller Strafe schützen?"

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

تو کہہ دے‘ مجھے بتاؤ تو سہی کہ اگر اللہ مجھے اور میرے ساتھیوں کو ہلاک کر دے یا ہم پر رحم کر دے تو بھی کافروں[1] کو دردناک عذاب سے کون پناہ[2] دے گا۔

یعنی ہمارے مرنے کے بعد بھی کافروں پر عذاب آیا‘ تو ہمارے مرنے سے ان کو کیا فائدہ ہوگا۔

ایک روسی پروفیسر جو اٹامک تجربوں پر مقرر تھا مجھے ملنے آیا تو میں نے اس سے یہی سوال کیا کہ امریکہ نے بھی بم بنائے اور تم نے بھی بنائے اس سے دونوں قوموں کو کیا فائدہ پہنچا۔ اگر امریکہ نے روس تباہ کر دیا یا روس نے امریکہ‘ تو اس سے دونوں قوموں کو کیا خوشی ہوگی؟ اس نے یہی جواب دیا کہ ہم کوشش کر رہے ہیں کہ بم استعمال نہ ہوں اور کچھ نہیں کر سکتے۔

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

اِن سے کہو، کبھی تم نے یہ بھی سوچا کہ اللہ خواہ مجھے اور میرے ساتھیوں کو ہلاک کر دے یا ہم پر رحم کرے، کافروں کو دردناک عذاب سے کون بچا لے گا؟
