أَلَا لِلَّهِ ٱلدِّينُ ٱلْخَالِصُ ۚ وَٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ أَوْلِيَآءَ مَا نَعْبُدُهُمْ إِلَّا لِيُقَرِّبُونَآ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ زُلْفَىٰٓ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَحْكُمُ بَيْنَهُمْ فِى مَا هُمْ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِى مَنْ هُوَ كَٰذِبٌ كَفَّارٌ
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
Hearken, it is to Allah alone that sincere obedience is due. And those who take for protectors others beside Him say, ‘We serve them only that they may bring us near to Allah in station.’ Surely, Allah will judge between them concerning that wherein they differ. Surely, Allah guides not him who is an ungrateful liar.

خبردار! خالص دین ہی اللہ کے شایانِ شان ہے اور وہ لوگ جنہوں نے اُس کے سوا دوست اپنا لئے ہیں (کہتے ہیں کہ) ہم اس مقصد کے سوا اُن کی عبادت نہیں کرتے کہ وہ ہمیں اللہ کے قریب کرتے ہوئے قرب کے اونچے مقام تک پہنچادیں۔ یقیناً اللہ اُن کے درمیان اُس کا فیصلہ کرے گا جس میں وہ اختلاف کیا کرتے تھے۔ اللہ ہرگز اُسے ہدایت نہیں دیتا جو جھوٹا (اور) سخت ناشکرا ہو۔
French
Ecoutez, c’est uniquement à Allāh qu’est due l’obéissance sincère. Et ceux qui en prennent d’autres en dehors de Lui pour protecteurs disent : « Nous les servons seulement pour qu’ils nous rapprochent d’Allāh. » Assurément, Allāh jugera entre eux à propos de ce sur quoi ils étaient en désaccord. Assurément, Allāh ne guide pas celui qui est un menteur ingrat.

Fürwahr, Allah (allein) gebührt lauterer Gehorsam. Und diejenigen, die sich andere zu Beschützern nehmen statt Ihn (sprechen): "Wir dienen ihnen nur, damit sie uns Allah nahebringen." Allah wird zwischen ihnen richten über das, worin sie uneins sind. Wahrlich, Allah weist nicht dem den Weg, der ein Lügner, ein Undankbarer ist.

En verdad, Al‑lah juzgará entre ellos en cuanto a lo que disputan. Ciertamente Al-lah no guía al mentiroso desagradecido.
اردو تفسیرِ صغیر
سنو‘ اطاعت خالص اللہ ہی کا حق ہے اور جو لوگ اس کے سوا اور ہستیوں کو دوست بناتے ہیں (یہ کہتے ہوئے) کہ ہم ان کی عبادت صرف اس لئے کرتے ہیں کہ وہ ہمیں اللہ کے قریب[1] کر دیں۔ اللہ ان کے درمیان ان باتوں کے متعلق جن میں وہ اختلاف رکھتے ہیں فیصلہ کرے گا۔ اللہ یقیناً جھوٹے اور ناشکر گذار کو کامیابی کا راستہ نہیں دکھاتا۔
آج کل مسلمانوں میں سے ملحد اسی بہانہ سے شرک کرتے ہیں مگر پرانے مشرکوں میں سے بھی بعض لوگ شرک کی یہی تاویل کرتے تھے۔
English - Short Commentary Translation
Remember, it is to Allah alone that sincere obedience is due. And those who take as protectors others beside Him, say, ‘We serve them only that they may bring us near to Allah in station.’[2562] Surely, [d]Allah will judge between them concerning that wherein they differ. Surely, Allah guides not him who is an ungrateful liar.

Man is prone to worship false gods, the idols of his own imagination, such as saints and holy men; wealth, power and passion; inherited beliefs and customs, etc. always pretending to believe that these can help him to understand and realize the Divine Being.

خبردار، دین خالص اللہ کا حق ہے رہے وہ لوگ جنہوں نے اُس کے سوا دوسرے سرپرست بنا رکھے ہیں (اور اپنے اِس فعل کی توجیہ یہ کرتے ہیں کہ) ہم تو اُن کی عبادت صرف اس لیے کرتے ہیں کہ وہ اللہ تک ہماری رسائی کرا دیں، اللہ یقیناً اُن کے درمیان اُن تمام باتوں کا فیصلہ کر دے گا جن میں وہ اختلاف کر رہے ہیں اللہ کسی ایسے شخص کو ہدایت نہیں دیتا جو جھوٹا اور منکر حق ہو
English - Sahih
Unquestionably, for Allah is the pure religion. And those who take protectors besides Him [say], "We only worship them that they may bring us nearer to Allah in position." Indeed, Allah will judge between them concerning that over which they differ. Indeed, Allah does not guide he who is a liar and [confirmed] disbeliever.

Unquestionably, for Allah (is) the religion the pure. And those who take besides Him protectors, "Not we worship them except that they may bring us near to Allah (in) nearness." Belongs not sincere religion to God? And those who take protectors, apart from Him -- 'We only serve them that they may bring us nigh in nearness to God' -- surely God shall judge between them touching that whereon they are at variance. Surely God guides not him who is a liar, unthankful.

Lo, religion is exclusively devoted to Allah. Your religion is entirely consecrated to Him. As for those who have taken others than Allah for their guardians, (they say): “We worship them only that they may bring us nearer to Allah.” Allah will judge between them concerning what they differ about.
