وَقَطَّعْنَٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أُمَمًا ۖ مِّنْهُمُ ٱلصَّٰلِحُونَ وَمِنْهُمْ دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ ۖ وَبَلَوْنَٰهُم بِٱلْحَسَنَٰتِ وَٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
And We broke them up into separate peoples in the earth. Among them are those that are righteous and among them are those that are otherwise. And We tried them with good things and bad things that they might return.
اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ
اور ہم نے انہیں زمین میں قوم در قوم بانٹ دیا۔ ان میں نیک لوگ بھی تھے اور اُنہی میں اس کے علاوہ بھی تھے۔ اور ہم نے ان کو اچھی اور بری حالتوں سے آزمایا تاکہ وہ (ہدایت کی طرف) لَوٹ آئیں۔
French
Et Nous les avons divisés en peuples séparés sur la terre. Parmi eux se trouvent ceux qui sont justes, et il y a les autres. Et Nous les avons éprouvés par la prospérité et par l’adversité, afin qu’ils puissent revenir au bien.

Und Wir haben sie* auf Erden verteilt in Volksstämme. Unter ihnen sind Rechtschaffene, und unter ihnen sind andere. Und Wir prüften sie durch Gutes und durch Böses, auf dass sie sich bekehren möchten.

E Noi li dividemmo sulla terra, in popoli diversi. Fra loro vi sono quelli che sono giusti e fra loro vi sono quelli che non lo sono. E Noi li mettemmo alla prova con cose buone e cose cattive, sì che potessero ritornare.

Y los dividimos en la tierra en pueblos separados. Entre ellos los hay justos y otros que no lo son. Mas los probamos con cosas buenas y cosas malas para que volvieran.
اردو تفسیرِ صغیر
اور ہم نے ان کو زمین میں گروہ در گروہ بنا کر پھیلا دیا ہے (پر اب بھی) ان میں سے کچھ نیک [2]ہیں اور کچھ بد۔ اور ہم ان کو اچھے حالات اور برے حالات سے پرکھتے رہتے ہیں تا کہ وہ (اپنی غلطیوں سے) باز آجائیں۔
ثابت ہوا کہ یہ بندر انسان تھے صرف بندر خصلت ہو گئے تھے۔ ورنہ اصل بندر کے نیک ہونے کے کیا معنے؟ کیا بندر نمازیں باجماعت پڑھتے تھے یا سجدے کرتے تھے یا زکٰوۃ دیتے تھے۔

Commentary:
The prophecy contained in this verse has met with a remarkable fulfilment. No people has been so much harassed and so widely dispersed over the face of the earth as the Jews have been.
اردو ترجمہ مودودی
ہم نے ان کو زمین میں ٹکڑے ٹکڑے کر کے بہت سی قوموں میں تقسیم کر دیا کچھ لوگ ان میں نیک تھے اور کچھ ا س سے مختلف اور ہم ان کو اچھے اور برے حالات سے آزمائش میں مبتلا کرتے رہے کہ شاید یہ پلٹ آئیں

And We divided them throughout the earth into nations. Of them some were righteous, and of them some were otherwise. And We tested them with good [times] and bad that perhaps they would return [to obedience].
