وَإِذَا ذُكِرَ ٱللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ ٱشْمَأَزَّتْ قُلُوبُ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْءَاخِرَةِ ۖ وَإِذَا ذُكِرَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ إِذَا هُمْ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
And when Allah alone is mentioned the hearts of those who believe not in the Hereafter shrink with aversion; but when those beside Him are mentioned, behold, they begin to rejoice.
اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ
اور جب اکیلے اللہ کا ذکر کیا جائے تو ان لوگوں کے دل، جو آخرت پر ایمان نہیں رکھتے، بُرا مانتے ہیں اور جب اُسے چھوڑ کر دوسروں کا ذکر کیا جائے تو وہ بہت خوش ہوتے ہیں۔

Et lorsque Allāh Seul est mentionné, le cœur de ceux qui ne croient pas à l’au-delà se contracte de dégoût ; mais lorsque ceux qui sont adorés en dehors de Lui sont cités, voilà qu’ils se réjouissent.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر
اور جب خدائے واحد کا ذکر کیا جاتا ہے تو وہ لوگ جو آخرت پر ایمان نہیں لاتے ان کے دل (ایسے وعظ سے) نفرت [1]کرنے لگ جاتے ہیں اور جب اُن (بتوں) کا جو خدا کے مقابلہ میں بالکل حقیر ہیں ذکر کیا جاتا ہے تو وہ یکدم خوش ہونے لگ جاتے ہیں۔
یعنی مشرک لوگ توحید کے ذکر سے بہت چِڑتے ہیں۔

Important Words:
اشمأزت (shrink with aversion) is derived from شـمز. They say شـمزت نفسی منه i.e. my soul shrank from it in dislike, aversion or hatred. اشمأز means, he shrank or shuddered or was frightened. اشمأزت قلوبھم means, their hearts become contracted and shrink with aversion (Lane).

جب اکیلے اللہ کا ذکر کیا جاتا ہے تو آخرت پر ایمان نہ رکھنے والوں کے دل کڑھنے لگتے ہیں، اور جب اُس کے سوا دوسروں کا ذکر ہوتا ہے تو یکایک وہ خوشی سے کھل اٹھتے ہیں

And when Allah is mentioned alone, the hearts of those who do not believe in the Hereafter shrink with aversion, but when those [worshipped] other than Him are mentioned, immediately they rejoice.
