قَالُوا۟ بَشَّرْنَٰكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ فَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْقَٰنِطِينَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

They said, ‘We have, indeed, given thee glad tidings in truth; be not therefore of those who despair.’

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

انہوں نے کہا ہم نے تجھے برحق خوشخبری دی ہے۔ پس مایوس ہونے والوں میں سے نہ ہو۔

French

Ils dirent : « Nous t’avons donné la bonne nouvelle basée sur la vérité ; ne sois donc pas de ceux qui désespèrent. »

German

Sie sprachen: "Wir haben dir die frohe Kunde mit der Wahrheit gebracht; sei darum nicht einer der Verzweifelnden."

Chinese

他们说: “我们根据真理向你报喜, 所以你不要绝望。”

Italian

Essi dissero: «Noi non ti abbiamo dato che una lieta novella basata sulla verità. Non essere dunque di quelli che disperano.»

Spanish

Respondieron: “No te hemos dado sino la buena nueva basada en la verdad; no seas pues de los que desesperan”.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

انہوں نے کہا (کہ) ہم نے تجھے سچی بشارت دی ہے۔ پس تو نا امید مت ہو۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

They said, ‘We have indeed given thee true glad tidings, be not, therefore, of those who despair.’

English - Five Volume Translation

They said, ‘We have, indeed, given thee glad tidings in truth; be not therefore of those who despair.’[1759]

Commentary:

In answer to Abraham the messengers said that the glad tidings they had conveyed to him were from God and that if it had not been so, they had no right to give any tidings to him, the word حق (truth) also meaning both God and right. So they were giving to him the news on the basis of the truth that had been communicated to them from God in keeping with the appropriateness of the occasion. The words, be not therefore of those who despair, make it clear that these guests of Abraham were men and not angels, for if they had been angels, they would not have addressed such words to him, being well aware of the strong faith and the great spiritual eminence of Abraham. It was, however, possible for human beings to address him like that on account of their ignorance of his spiritual eminence.

اُنہوں نے جواب دیا "ہم تمہیں برحق بشارت دے رہے ہیں، تم مایوس نہ ہو"

English - Sahih

They said, "We have given you good tidings in truth, so do not be of the despairing."

انہوں نے کہا ہم نے تمہیں بھی سچی خوشخبری سنائی ہے سو تو نا امید نہ ہو
