ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمُ ٱسْتَحَبُّوا۟ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا عَلَى ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

That is because they have preferred the present life to the Hereafter, and because Allah guides not the disbelieving people.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

یہ اس لئے ہے کہ انہوں نے آخرت پر (ترجیح دیتے ہوئے) دنیا کی زندگی کو پسند کر لیا اور اس وجہ سے (بھی) ہے کہ اللہ ہرگز کافر قوم کو ہدایت نہیں دیتا۔

French

C’est parce qu’ils ont préféré la vie de ce monde à l’au-delà, et parce qu’Allāh ne guide pas le peuple mécréant.

German

Dies, weil sie das Leben hienieden dem Jenseits vorgezogen und weil Allah das Volk der Ungläubigen nicht leitet.

[b]这是因为他们宁要今世生命而不爱后世, 也是因为安拉不引导不信的人。

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور ایسا اس سبب سے ہوگا کہ انہوں نے اس ورلی زندگی سے محبت کرکے اسے آخرت پر مقدم کر لیا اور (نیز اس وجہ سے کہ) اللہ کفر اختیار کرنے والے لوگوں کو ہدایت نہیں دیتا۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

[b]That is because they have preferred the present life to the Hereafter, and because Allah guides not the disbelieving people.

[a]That is because they have preferred the present life to the Hereafter, and because Allah guides not the disbelieving people.[1908]

10:8; 87:17.

Commentary:

The verse purports to say that as the Quran is the revealed word of God and contains nothing but truth, dissatisfaction with its teaching can never be the cause of its rejection. It must be due to expediency, the consideration of worldly interests or mental perversion of the rejecter. But the disbeliever rejects it to his own cost.

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

یہ اس لیے کہ اُنہوں نے آخرت کے مقابلہ میں دنیا کی زندگی کو پسند کر لیا، اور اللہ کا قاعدہ ہے کہ وہ اُن لوگوں کو راہ نجات نہیں دکھاتا جو اُس کی نعمت کا کفران کریں

English - Sahih

That is because they preferred the worldly life over the Hereafter and that Allah does not guide the disbelieving people.

یہ اس لیے کہ انہوں نے دنیا کی زندگی کو آخرت پر محبوب بنایا اور نیز اس لیے کہ الله کافروں کو ہدایت نہیں دیتا
