2:7

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَأَنذَرْتَهُمْ أَمْ لَمْ تُنذِرْهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ

Belief (Iman) / Those Who Have NoDisbelief (Kufr)Kufr / DisbeliefMuhammad(sa) / And Disbelievers
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
Those who have disbelieved — it being equal to them whether thou warn them or warn them not — they will not believe.
2:8

خَتَمَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ وَعَلَىٰ سَمْعِهِمْ ۖ وَعَلَىٰٓ أَبْصَٰرِهِمْ غِشَٰوَةٌ ۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ

Allah / Sets A Seal On Their Hearts, (Khatama), (Taba‘a)Ears / Disbelievers Do Not HearHeart (Sadr, Fu’ad, Qalb) / Sealed, Veiled, Rusted, Blind, StraitenedSeal (Khatama)Belief (Iman) / Those Who Have NoDisbelief (Kufr)

Allah has set a seal on their hearts and their ears, and over their eyes is a covering; and for them is a great punishment.
2:9

وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَقُولُ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَبِٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْءَاخِرِ وَمَا هُم بِمُؤْمِنِينَ

Day Of Requital / Resurrection, (Yaumul-Qiyamah, Yaumud-Din, Yaumul-Akhirah, Yaumul-Ba‘th)Hypocrites (Munafiqin)Qiyamah / Belief InDisbelief (Kufr)

And of the people there are some who say, ‘We believe in Allah and the Last Day;’ while they are not believers at all.
2:10

يُخَٰدِعُونَ ٱللَّهَ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَمَا يَخْدَعُونَ إِلَّآ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ

Deceive (Gharrah, Khada‘ah)Disbelief (Kufr)Hypocrites (Munafiqin)

They would deceive Allah and those who believe, and they deceive none but themselves; only they perceive it not.
2:11

فِى قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ فَزَادَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مَرَضًا ۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْذِبُونَ

DiseaseHeart (Sadr, Fu’ad, Qalb) / DiseasedMoral Traits / HypocrisyDisbelief (Kufr)Hypocrites (Munafiqin)

In their hearts was a disease, and Allah has increased their disease to them; and for them is a grievous punishment because they lied.
2:12

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ لَا تُفْسِدُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَا نَحْنُ مُصْلِحُونَ

Allah / Does Not Love Mischief-MongersDisorder (Fitnah, Fasad)Earth (Al-Ard) / Create Not Mischief OnDisbelief (Kufr)Hypocrites (Munafiqin)

And when it is said to them: ‘Create not disorder on the earth,’ they say: ‘We are only promoters of peace.’
2:13

أَلَآ إِنَّهُمْ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْسِدُونَ وَلَٰكِن لَّا يَشْعُرُونَ

Allah / Does Not Love Mischief-MongersDisbelief (Kufr)Disorder (Fitnah, Fasad)Hypocrites (Munafiqin)

Beware! it is surely they who create disorder, but they do not perceive it.
2:14

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ ءَامِنُوا۟ كَمَآ ءَامَنَ ٱلنَّاسُ قَالُوٓا۟ أَنُؤْمِنُ كَمَآ ءَامَنَ ٱلسُّفَهَآءُ ۗ أَلَآ إِنَّهُمْ هُمُ ٱلسُّفَهَآءُ وَلَٰكِن لَّا يَعْلَمُونَ

Belief (Iman) / Those Who Have NoDisbelief (Kufr)Hypocrites (Munafiqin)

And when it is said to them, ‘Believe as other people have believed,’ they say: ‘Shall we believe as the foolish have believed?’ Beware! it is surely they that are foolish, but they do not know.
2:15

وَإِذَا لَقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا وَإِذَا خَلَوْا۟ إِلَىٰ شَيَٰطِينِهِمْ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا مَعَكُمْ إِنَّمَا نَحْنُ مُسْتَهْزِءُونَ

Satan / Enemy Of ManSatan / Leaders, GiantsDisbelief (Kufr)Hypocrites (Munafiqin)
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
And when they meet those who believe, they say: ‘We believe;’ but when they are alone with their ringleaders, they say: ‘We are certainly with you; we are only mocking.’
2:16

ٱللَّهُ يَسْتَهْزِئُ بِهِمْ وَيَمُدُّهُمْ فِى طُغْيَٰنِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ

Allah / Punishes Wrong-Doers, DisbelieversBlind / SpirituallyPoetRespite / To HypocritesTransgression (Tagha), (‘Udwan)Disbelief (Kufr)Hypocrites (Munafiqin)

Allah will punish their mockery and will let them continue in their transgression, wandering blindly.
2:17

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱشْتَرَوُا۟ ٱلضَّلَٰلَةَ بِٱلْهُدَىٰ فَمَا رَبِحَت تِّجَٰرَتُهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُهْتَدِينَ

Allah / Bartered Signs OfBarterTrade (Tijarah)Disbelief (Kufr)Hypocrites (Munafiqin)
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
These are they who have taken error in exchange for guidance; but their traffic has brought them no gain, nor are they rightly guided.
2:18

مَثَلُهُمْ كَمَثَلِ ٱلَّذِى ٱسْتَوْقَدَ نَارًا فَلَمَّآ أَضَآءَتْ مَا حَوْلَهُۥ ذَهَبَ ٱللَّهُ بِنُورِهِمْ وَتَرَكَهُمْ فِى ظُلُمَٰتٍ لَّا يُبْصِرُونَ

Allah / Parables Set Forth By, (Amthal)Darkness / Spiritual, (Zulumat, Lail)Environment (Mahaul)Fire (An-Nar) / Of War, DisorderParable Of / Person Kindling FireDisbelief (Kufr)Hypocrites (Munafiqin)

Their case is like the case of a person who kindled a fire, and when it lighted up all around him, Allah took away their light and left them in thick darkness; they see not.
2:19

صُمٌّۢ بُكْمٌ عُمْىٌ فَهُمْ لَا يَرْجِعُونَ

Blind / SpirituallyDeafEars / Of DisbelieversDisbelief (Kufr)Hypocrites (Munafiqin)

They are deaf, dumb and blind; so they will not return.
2:20

أَوْ كَصَيِّبٍ مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ فِيهِ ظُلُمَٰتٌ وَرَعْدٌ وَبَرْقٌ يَجْعَلُونَ أَصَٰبِعَهُمْ فِىٓ ءَاذَانِهِم مِّنَ ٱلصَّوَٰعِقِ حَذَرَ ٱلْمَوْتِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ مُحِيطٌۢ بِٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ

Allah / Encompasses The DisbelieversDarkness / Spiritual, (Zulumat, Lail)Fear / Cast Into DisbelieversHeaven (Sama’) / As A RoofParable Of / Rain & LightningRainDisbelief (Kufr)Ears / Of DisbelieversHypocrites (Munafiqin)

Or it is like a heavy rain from the clouds, wherein is thick darkness and thunder and lightning; they put their fingers into their ears because of the thunderclaps for fear of death, and Allah encompasses the disbelievers.
2:21

يَكَادُ ٱلْبَرْقُ يَخْطَفُ أَبْصَٰرَهُمْ ۖ كُلَّمَآ أَضَآءَ لَهُم مَّشَوْا۟ فِيهِ وَإِذَآ أَظْلَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ قَامُوا۟ ۚ وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَذَهَبَ بِسَمْعِهِمْ وَأَبْصَٰرِهِمْ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

Allah / Has The Power To Do All That He WillsPower / Allah Has TheDisbelief (Kufr)Hypocrites (Munafiqin)Parable Of / Rain & Lightning

The lightning might well-nigh snatch away their sight; whenever it shines upon them, they walk therein; and when it becomes dark to them, they stand still. And if Allah willed, He could take away their hearing and their sight; surely, Allah has the power to do all that He wills.
2:24

وَإِن كُنتُمْ فِى رَيْبٍ مِّمَّا نَزَّلْنَا عَلَىٰ عَبْدِنَا فَأْتُوا۟ بِسُورَةٍ مِّن مِّثْلِهِۦ وَٱدْعُوا۟ شُهَدَآءَكُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ

Challenge / Produce A Book Like Qur’anDisbelief (Kufr) / Challenge ToDoubt (Raib) / About Allah, Qur’anInimitability (E‘jaz)Qur’an / Excellence, Perfection Of, (Ummul-Kitab)Qur’an / From AllahServant / Of God / Holy Prophet(sa), ‘AbdullahSurahTreasureTruthful (Sadiq) / If You Are
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
And if you are in doubt as to what We have sent down to Our servant, then produce a Chapter like it, and call upon your helpers beside Allah, if you are truthful.
2:25

فَإِن لَّمْ تَفْعَلُوا۟ وَلَن تَفْعَلُوا۟ فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلنَّارَ ٱلَّتِى وَقُودُهَا ٱلنَّاسُ وَٱلْحِجَارَةُ ۖ أُعِدَّتْ لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ

Disbelief (Kufr) / Punishment Of AFire (An-Nar) / Of HellFuelHell (Jahannam) / For Disbelievers, Hypocrites, IdolatersHell (Jahannam) / Fuel And Fire OfInimitability (E‘jaz)

But if you do it not — and never shall you do it — then guard against the Fire, whose fuel is men and stones, which is prepared for the disbelievers.
2:35

وَإِذْ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ ٱسْجُدُوا۟ لِءَادَمَ فَسَجَدُوٓا۟ إِلَّآ إِبْلِيسَ أَبَىٰ وَٱسْتَكْبَرَ وَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ

Adam (Adam(as)) / Angels Submit ToAdam (Adam(as),Iblis) Refused To Submit ToAngels (Mala’ikah) / Recording, GuardianDisbelief (Kufr) / Disbeliever, (Kuffar)Disobedience (‘Isyan, Fusuq)Iblis / Devil / Not An AngelIblis / Devil / Refused To SubmitMoral Traits / Arrogance, ConceitSatan / And (Iblis)

And remember the time when We said to the angels: ‘Submit to Adam,’ and they all submitted. But Iblis did not. He refused and was too proud; and he was of the disbelievers.
