And indeed there has come to them a Messenger from among themselves, but they treated him as a liar, so punishment overtook them while they were wrongdoers.
اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ
اور یقیناً ان کے پاس انہی میں سے ایک رسول آیا تو انہوں نے اسے جھٹلا دیا۔ سو عذاب نے ان کو آپکڑا جبکہ وہ ظلم کرنے والے تھے۔

Et en vérité, un Messager leur est venu qui était des leurs, mais ils le traitèrent de menteur. Aussi le châtiment les surprit pendant qu’ils commettaient des iniquités.

Und fürwahr, gekommen ist zu ihnen ein Gesandter aus ihrer Mitte, sie aber leugneten ihn, da ereilte sie die Strafe, weil sie Frevler waren.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر
اور یقیناً ان کے پاس انہی میں سے (ہمارا) ایک رسول آچکا ہے مگر انہوں نے اسے جھٹلایا۔ جس پر اس حالت میں کہ وہ ظلم کر رہے تھے (ہمارے) عذاب نے انہیں آپکڑا۔

And indeed there has come to them a Messenger from among themselves, but they treated him as a liar, so punishment overtook them while they were wrongdoers.

And indeed there has come to them a Messenger from among themselves, but they treated him as a liar, so punishment overtook them while they were wrongdoers.[1914]
Commentary:
The verse further makes it clear that the parable of the previous verse applied to the Meccans who made themselves deserving of Divine punishment because they rejected the Prophet who was from among them and whom they knew to be truthful, sincere and honest.

اُن کے پاس ان کی اپنی قوم میں سے ایک رسول آیا مگر اُنہوں نے اس کو جھٹلا دیا آخر کار عذاب نے اُن کو آ لیا جبکہ وہ ظالم ہو چکے تھے
