16:66

وَاللّٰہُ اَنۡزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَاَحۡیَا بِہِ الۡاَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ مَوۡتِہَاۤ ۚ اِنَّ فِیۡ ذٰلِکَ لَاٰیَۃً لِّقَوۡمٍ یَّسۡمَعُوۡنَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And Allah has sent down water from the sky, and has quickened therewith the earth after its death. Surely, in that is a Sign for a people who would hear.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور اللہ نے آسمان سے پانی اُتارا تو اس سے زمین کو اس کے مر جانے کے بعد زندہ کر دیا۔ یقیناً اس میں ان لوگوں کے لئے بہت بڑا نشان ہے جو (بات) سنتے ہیں۔

French

Et Allāh a fait descendre de l’eau du ciel, et en a vivifié la terre après sa mort. Assurément, il y a là un Signe pour des gens qui veulent entendre.

German

Allah hat Wasser vom Himmel hernieder gesandt und damit die Erde belebt nach ihrem Tod. Wahrlich, darin ist ein Zeichen für Leute, die hören mögen.

Chinese

[f]安拉从天空降水, 并用它使无生气的大地重新生动起来。其中对听从 (真理) 的人确有一个迹象。

Italian

E Allah ha fatto scendere acqua dal cielo e con essa ha fatto rivivere la terra dopo che era morta. Certamente in ciò è un segno per un popolo che voglia ascoltare.

Spanish

Y Al-lah ha enviado agua desde el cielo y ha resucitado con ella la tierra después de su muerte. En verdad, aquí hay un Signo para las gentes que quieren oír.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور اللہ نے (ہی) آسمان سے پانی اتارا ہے اور اس کے ذریعہ سے اس نے زمین کو اس کے مردہ ہو چکنے کے بعد (ازسرنو) زندہ کیا ہے جو لوگ (حق بات کو) سنتے (اور اسے قبول کرنے کے لئے تیار ہوتے) ہیں ان کے لئے اس میں یقیناً ایک (بہت بڑا) نشان (پایا جاتا) ہے۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

And [c]Allah has sent down water from the sky and has quickened therewith the earth after its death. Surely, in that is a Sign for a people who would listen to the truth.

2:165; 13:18.

English - Five Volume Translation

And [a]Allah has sent down water from the sky, and has quickened therewith the earth after its death. Surely, in that is a Sign for a people who would hear.[1866]

Commentary:

By 'water' here is meant Divine revelation and the attention of disbelievers has been drawn to the fact that if Prophets have been appearing in the past to give life to the dead, why should the present generation not have their Prophet?

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

(تم ہر برسات میں دیکھتے ہو کہ) اللہ نے آسمان سے پانی برسایا اور یکا یک مردہ پڑی ہوئی زمین میں اُس کی بدولت جان ڈال دی یقیناً اس میں ایک نشانی ہے سننے والوں کے لیے

English - Sahih

And Allah has sent down rain from the sky and given life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who listen.

اردو ترجمہ احمد علی

اور الله نے آسمان سے پانی اتارا پھراس سے مردہ زمین کو زندہ کر دیا اس میں ان لوگو ں کے لیے نشانی ہے جو سنتے ہیں

English - Talal Itani

And Allah has sent down from the sky water, then gives life by it (to) the earth after its death. Indeed, in that (is) surely a Sign for a people who listen.

اردہ تفصیرِ صغیر نوٹس ^*

English - Arberry

And it is God who sends down out of heaven water, and therewith revives the earth after it is dead. Surely in that is a sign for a people who have ears.

English - Maududi

Allah sends down water from the heaven, and thereby He instantly revives the earth after it lay dead. Verily there is a sign in it for those who have ears.

English - Ahmed Ali

God sends down water from the skies and quickens the dead earth to a new birth. Here is a sign for those who listen.

And Allah sends down rain from the skies, and gives therewith life to the earth after its death: verily in this is a Sign for those who listen.
