إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَبْسُطُ ٱلرِّزْقَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيَقْدِرُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ بِعِبَادِهِۦ خَبِيرًۢا بَصِيرًا

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

Surely, thy Lord enlarges His provision for whom He pleases, and straitens it for whom He pleases. Verily, He knows and sees His servants full well.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

تیرا ربّ یقیناً جس کے لئے چاہتا ہے رزق کو وسعت بھی دیتا ہے اور تنگ بھی کرتا ہے۔ یقیناً وہ اپنے بندوں سے بہت باخبر ہے (اور) گہری نظر رکھنے والا ہے۔

Assurément, ton Seigneur augmente les moyens de subsistancede Sa part pour qui Il veut, et les réduitpour qui Il veut. En vérité, Il connaît bien Ses serviteurs et les voit très bien.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

تیرا رب جس کے لئے چاہتا ہے رزق کو وسیع کر دیتا ہے اور (جس کے لئے چاہتا ہے) تنگ کرتا ہے۔ وہ یقیناً اپنے بندوں (کے حالات) کو جاننے والا (اور) دیکھنے والا ہے۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

Surely, [e]thy Lord enlarges His provision for whom He pleases, and straitens it for whom He pleases. Verily, He knows and sees His servants full well.

English - Five Volume Translation

Surely, [a]thy Lord enlarges His provision for whom He pleases, and straitens it for whom He pleases. Verily, He knows and sees His servants full well.[1960]

Commentary:

The verse means to say that God grants plenty to some and straitens the means of livelihood for others. He does so that He may see whether those upon whom He has bestowed wealth help those who are poor and needy. The verse teaches the supreme lesson that money spent in helping and serving the poor is money well spent. The enlarging of provision by God and the straitening of it by Him do not imply an arbitrary action but refer to a wise system of divine laws.

It is worthy of note that these commandments regarding the right use of money were given to Muslims in Mecca at a time when they could not earn even as much as to make both ends meet and when many of them were actually starving. Could such commandments be given to a persecuted and starving people by anyone except the All-Powerful God Who knew that the time was soon coming when those very starving Muslims would become wealthy and powerful?

تیر ا رب جس کے لیے چاہتا ہے رزق کشادہ کرتا ہے اور جس کے لیے چاہتا ہے تنگ کر دیتا ہے وہ اپنے بندوں کے حال سے باخبر ہے اور انہیں دیکھ رہا ہے

English - Sahih

Indeed, your Lord extends provision for whom He wills and restricts [it]. Indeed He is ever, concerning His servants, Acquainted and Seeing.

بے شک تیرا رب جس کے لئے چاہے رزق کشادہ کر تا ہے اور تنگ بھی کرتا ہے بے شک وہ اپنے بندوں کو جاننے والا دیکھنے والا ہے
