23:118

وَمَنۡ یَّدۡعُ مَعَ اللّٰہِ اِلٰہًا اٰخَرَ لَا بُرۡہٰنَ لَہٗ بِہٖ فَاِنَّمَا حِسَابُہٗ عِنۡدَ رَبِّہٖۤ ۚ اِنَّہٗ لَا یُفۡلِحُ الۡکٰفِرُوۡنَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And he who calls on another God along with Allah, for which he has no proof, shall have to render an account to his Lord. Certainly the disbelievers will not prosper.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور جو اللہ کے ساتھ کسی اور معبود کو پکارے جس کی اس کے پاس کوئی دلیل نہیں تو یقیناً اُس کا حساب اُس کے ربّ کے پاس ہے۔ یقیناً کافر کامیاب نہیں ہوتے۔

French

Et celui qui invoquera avec Allāh un autre dieu, dont il n’a aucune preuve, certainement son compte est auprès de son Seigneur. Certainement, les mécréants ne prospéreront point.

German

Und wer neben Allah einen anderen Gott anruft, für den er keinen Beweis hat, der wird seinem Herrn Rechenschaft abzulegen haben. Wahrlich, die Ungläubigen haben keinen Erfolg.

凡把安拉和其他无根据的受拜者合在一起都作为祈祷对象的, 他必将向他的养主交付帐目。不信者确实不会成功。

Italian

E colui che insieme con Allah invoca un altro dio, del quale non ha prova alcuna, dovrà renderne conto al suo Signore. Certamente, i miscredenti non prospereranno.

Spanish

Y quien invoca a otro dios junto a Al-lah, para lo que no tiene prueba alguna, tendrá que dar cuenta a su Señor. En verdad, los incrédulos no prosperarán.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور جو کوئی اللہ کے سوا کسی اور معبود کو پکارے جس کی کوئی دلیل نہیں‘ تو اس کا حساب اس کے رب کے پاس ہے۔ حقیقت یہ ہے کہ کافر کبھی کامیاب نہیں ہوتے۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

And he, who calls on another god along with Allah, for which he has no proof, shall have to render an account to his Lord. Certainly, the disbelievers do not prosper.

English - Five Volume Translation

And he who calls on another God along with Allah, for which he has no proof, shall have to render an account to his Lord. Certainly the disbelievers will not prosper.[2589]

Commentary:

The verse means to say that after the fact has been established that man has been created to fulfil a great object and that object is to develop and manifest in him Divine attributes, if he were so foolish as to worship gods of his own conception or creation he will have to render an account of his actions to God in the life to come and in the present life also such people will meet with frustration and discomfiture.

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

اور جو کوئی اللہ کے ساتھ کسی اور معبود کو پکارے، جس کے لیے اس کے پاس کوئی دلیل نہیں، تو اس کا حساب اس کے رب کے پاس ہے ایسے کافر کبھی فلاح نہیں پا سکتے

English - Sahih

And whoever invokes besides Allah another deity for which he has no proof - then his account is only with his Lord. Indeed, the disbelievers will not succeed.

اردو ترجمہ احمد علی

اور جس نے الله کے ساتھ اور معبو کو پکارا جس کی اس کے پاس کوئی سند نہیں تو اس کا حساب اسی کے رب کے ہاں ہوگا بے شک کافر نجات نہیں پائیں گے

English - Talal Itani

And whoever invokes with Allah god other, no proof for him in it. Then only his account (is) with his Lord. Indeed, [he] not will succeed the disbelievers.

Chinese Commentary ^*

اردہ تفصیرِ صغیر نوٹس ^*

English - Arberry

And whosoever calls upon another god with God, whereof he has no proof, his reckoning is with his Lord; surely the unbelievers shall not prosper.

English - Maududi

He who invokes any other god along with Allah " one for whom he has no evidence" his reckoning is with his Lord alone. Indeed, these unbelievers shall not prosper.

English - Ahmed Ali

Whoever worships another god apart from God, for which he holds no proof, will have to account for it before his Lord. Verily the unbelievers will not prosper.

English - Yusuf Ali

If anyone invokes, besides Allah, Any other god, he has no authority therefor; and his reckoning will be only with his Lord! and verily the Unbelievers will fail to win through!
