وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَٰهُم بِٱلْعَذَابِ فَمَا ٱسْتَكَانُوا۟ لِرَبِّهِمْ وَمَا يَتَضَرَّعُونَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

We did seize them with punishment, but they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor would they supplicate in lowliness.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور یقیناً ہم نے انہیں عذاب کے ذریعہ پکڑ لیا۔ پس نہ انہوں نے اپنے ربّ کے حضور عاجزی اختیار کی اور نہ وہ گریہ و زاری کرتے تھے۔

Nous les avons déjà saisis du châtiment, mais ils ne se sont pas humiliés devant leur Seigneur, et n’ont pas voulu supplier non plus ;

German

Wir haben sie mit Strafe erfasst, doch sie haben sich ihrem Herrn nicht unterworfen, noch haben sie sich gedemütigt –

[d]我已对他们执行刑罚, 但他们还是没有向自己的养主表示谦卑, 没有 (必恭必敬地) 哀求饶恕。

Nosotros les aplicamos el castigo, pero no se humillaron ante su Señor, ni suplicaron modestamente.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور ہم نے ان کو سخت عذاب میں جکڑ رکھا ہے پھر بھی وہ اپنے رب کے سامنے عاجزانہ طور پر نہیں جھکے اور نہ اس کے سامنے گریہ و زاری کی۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

[c]We had already seized them with punishment, but they humbled not themselves before their Lord, nor they would supplicate in lowliness;

[b]We did seize them with punishment, but they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor would they supplicate in lowliness.[2562]

اِن کا حال تو یہ ہے کہ ہم نے انہیں تکلیف میں مبتلا کیا، پھر بھی یہ اپنے رب کے آگے نہ جھکے اور نہ عاجزی اختیار کرتے ہیں

English - Sahih

And We had gripped them with suffering [as a warning], but they did not yield to their Lord, nor did they humbly supplicate, [and will continue thus]

اور البتہ ہم نے انہیں عذاب میں مبتلا بھی کیا پھر بھی اپنے رب کے سامنے عاجزی نہ کی اورنہ گڑگڑائے
