قُلۡ مَا سَاَلۡتُکُمۡ مِّنۡ اَجۡرٍ فَہُوَ لَکُمۡ ۖ اِنۡ اَجۡرِیَ اِلَّا عَلَی اللّٰہِ ۖ وَہُوَ عَلٰی کُلِّ شَیۡءٍ شَہِیۡدٌ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

Say, ‘Whatever reward I might have asked of you — let it be yours. My reward is only with Allah; and He is Witness over all things.’

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

تُو کہہ دے جو بھی میں تم سے اجر مانگتا ہوں وہ تمہاری ہی خاطر ہے۔ میرا اجر تو اللہ کے سوا کسی پر نہیں اور وہ ہر چیز پر گواہ ہے۔

French

Dis : « Quelque récompense que j’aurais pu vous avoir demandée – qu’elle soit à vous. Ma récompense se trouve seulement avec Allāh et Il est Témoin de toutes choses. »

German

Sprich: "Was ich auch an Lohn* von euch verlangt haben mag, das ist euer. Mein Lohn ist allein bei Allah; und Er ist Zeuge über alle Dinge."

你说: “(在传达使命中) [b]凡是我可以向你们要的回报, 你们都保留着吧! 我的回报只在安拉那里; 他观察着每一件东西。”

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

تو کہہ دے میں نے تم سے (تبلیغ رسالت کے بدلہ میں) جو بھی اجرت مانگی ہو‘ وہ تم ہی لے لو۔ میرا حق صرف اللہ پر ہے اور وہ ہر چیز کو دیکھ رہا ہے۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

Say, [b]‘Whatever reward I might have asked of you—let it be yours. My reward is only with Allah; and He is Witness over all things.’

Commentary:

This verse answers the objection raised in (v. 8) viz. that, by his claim to prophethood, the Holy Prophet seeks to impose his leadership upon his people. It tells disbelievers that in calling men to God the Prophet is actuated by no selfish motives. He calls God to bear witness to the honesty and sincerity of his purpose. Besides this his whole life constitutes an unanswerable testimony to it.

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

اِن سے کہو، "اگر میں نے تم سے کوئی اجر مانگا ہے تو وہ تم ہی کو مبارک رہے میرا اجر تو اللہ کے ذمہ ہے اور وہ ہر چیز پر گواہ ہے"

English - Sahih

Say, "Whatever payment I might have asked of you - it is yours. My payment is only from Allah, and He is, over all things, Witness."

اردو ترجمہ احمد علی

کہہ دو اس پر جو اجرات میں نے تم سے مانگی ہو وہ تمہارے ہی پاس رہے میری مزدوری تو الله ہی پر ہے اوروہ ہر چیز پر گواہ ہے

English - Talal Itani

Say, "Not I ask you for any payment, but it (is) for you. Not (is) my payment but from Allah. And He (is) over all things a Witness."
