وَأَقْسَمُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ جَهْدَ أَيْمَٰنِهِمْ لَئِن جَآءَهُمْ نَذِيرٌ لَّيَكُونُنَّ أَهْدَىٰ مِنْ إِحْدَى ٱلْأُمَمِ ۖ فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُمْ نَذِيرٌ مَّا زَادَهُمْ إِلَّا نُفُورًا
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
And they swore by Allah their strongest oaths, that if a Warner came to them, they would follow guidance better than any other people. But when a Warner did come to them, it only increased them in aversion,
اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ
اور انہوں نے اللہ کی پختہ قسمیں کھائیں کہ اگر ان کے پاس کوئی ڈرانے والا آیا تو ضرور وہ ہر ایک امت سے بڑھ کر ہدایت پاجائیں گے۔ پس جب ان کے پاس کوئی ڈرانے والا آیا تو انہیں نفرت کے سوا کسی چیز میں نہ بڑھا سکا۔

Et ils jurèrent par Allāh, de leurs serments les plus solennels, que si un Avertisseur venait à eux, ils suivraient la direction mieux qu’aucun autre peuple. Mais lorsqu’un Avertisseur est effectivement venu à eux, cela les a fait seulement croître en aversion,

Ed essi giurarono per Allah con i loro più solenni giuramenti, che se un ammonitore si fosse recato da loro, ne avrebbero seguito la guida meglio di ogni altro popolo. Ma quando un ammonitore si recò da loro, ciò non fece che accrescere la loro avversione.

Juraron por Al‑lah con sus juramentos más solemnes que si les llegara un Amonestador, seguirían la guía mejor que ningún otro pueblo. Pero cuando les llegó el Amonestador, ello no hizo más que aumentar su aversión.
اردو تفسیرِ صغیر
اور وہ اللہ کی پختہ قسمیں کھاتے ہیں کہ اگر ان کے پاس کوئی نبی آجائے تو وہ تمام امتوں میں سے ہر ایک سے زیادہ ہدایت پانے والے بن جائیں گے مگر جب ان کے پاس نبی آیا تو اس کا آنا انہیں صرف نفرت میں بڑھانے کا موجب ہوا۔

Commentary:
The verse gives another argument to bring home to disbelievers the sense of the guilt of rejecting the Holy Prophet. It purports to say to them that they used to taunt the Jews and the Christians for rejecting their own Prophets and revelations; and, by assuming an air of superiority, used to say to the latter that if ever a Prophet of God appeared among them they would at once accept him. But now that the greatest of the Prophets has been raised among them, they are opposing and persecuting him.

یہ لوگ کڑی کڑی قسمیں کھا کر کہا کرتے تھے کہ اگر کوئی خبردار کرنے والا ان کے ہاں آ گیا ہوتا تو یہ دنیا کی ہر دوسری قوم سے بڑھ کر راست رو ہوتے مگر جب خبردار کرنے والا ان کے پاس آگیا تو اس کی آمد نے اِن کے اندر حق سے فرار کے سوا کسی چیز میں اضافہ نہ کیا

And they swore by Allah their strongest oaths that if a warner came to them, they would be more guided than [any] one of the [previous] nations. But when a warner came to them, it did not increase them except in aversion.

اوروہ الله کی پختہ قسمیں کھاتے تھے اگر ان کے پاس کوئی بھی ڈرانے والا آیا تو ہر ایک امت سے زیادہ ہدایت پر ہوں گے پھر جب ان کے پاس ڈرانے والا آیا تو اس سے ان کو اور بھی نفرت بڑھ گئی

They have sworn by God the most earnest oaths that if a warner came to them, they would be more rightly guided than any one of the nations; but when a warner came to them, it increased them only in aversion,
