وَثَمُودُ وَقَوْمُ لُوطٍ وَأَصْحَٰبُ لْـَٔيْكَةِ ۚ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلْأَحْزَابُ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And the tribe of Thamud, and the people of Lot, and the dwellers of the Wood — these were the confederates.

اور ثمود نے بھی اور لوط کی قوم نے بھی اور گھنے درختوں والوں نے بھی۔ یہی ہیں وہ اَحزاب (جن کا ذکر گزرا ہے)۔

Et les Thamūd, et le peuple de Lot, et les habitants du Bois – voilà les confédérés.

und die Thamûd und das Volk des Lot und die Bewohner des Waldes – diese waren die Verbündeten.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اسی طرح ثمود نے اور لوط کی قوم نے اور اَیکہ[3] والے لوگوں نے بھی جھٹلایا تھا یہ سب ایک (غیر متقی) منظم گروہ تھے۔

اَ یْـکَہ کی تشریح کے لئے دیکھئے سورۃ حجر نوٹ آیت۷۹۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

And the tribe of Thamud, and the people of Lot, and [c]the Dwellers of the Wood—these were the confederates too.

English - Five Volume Translation

And the tribe of Thamud, and the people of Lot, and [b]the Dwellers of the Wood—these were the confederates that rejected the Messengers.[3384]

Commentary:

According to the Quran, اصحاب الایکة (Dwellers of the Wood) and اصحاب مدین (People of Median) are names of the same people, or rather, of two sections of the same people, who had adopted two different kinds of trade, one living on commerce and the other keeping herds of camels and sheep and selling milk, wood, etc. Thus, اصحاب الایکة is a section of the tribe of the Prophet Shu‘aib (26:177, 178), who has also been mentioned as having been sent to the People of Median (7:86, 11:85 & 29:37).

اور ثمود، اور قوم لوط، اور اَیکہ والے جھٹلا چکے ہیں جتھے وہ تھے

English - Sahih

And [the tribe of] Thamud and the people of Lot and the companions of the thicket. Those are the companies.

اور ثمود اور لوط کی قوم اور بن والے بھی جھٹلا چکے ہیں یہی وہ لشکر ہیں

And Thamud and (the) people (of) Lut and (the) companions (of) the wood. Those (were) the companies.
