وَقَالُوا۟ مَا لَنَا لَا نَرَىٰ رِجَالًا كُنَّا نَعُدُّهُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَشْرَارِ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And they will say, ‘What has happened to us that we see not the men whom we used to reckon among the wicked?

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور وہ کہیں گے ہمیں کیا ہوا ہے کہ ہم ان لوگوں کو نہیں دیکھ رہے جنہیں ہم شریروں میں شما ر کیا کرتے تھے۔

French

Et ils diront : « Que nous est-il arrivé que nous ne voyons pas les hommes que nous comptions parmi les méchants ?

German

Und sie werden sprechen: "Was ist uns geschehen, dass wir nicht die Leute sehen, die wir zu den Bösen zu zählen pflegten?

他们说: “我们怎么不见我们往常认为是邪恶的人?

Italian

E diranno: «Che ci è successo? Non vediamo gli uomini che eravamo soliti annoverare tra gli iniqui!

Spanish

Y dirán: “¿Qué nos ha sucedido, que no vemos a los hombres a los que solíamos contar entre los malvados?”.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور (اس وقت دوزخی) کہیں گے ہمیں کیا ہوا کہ ہم آج ان لوگوں کو نہیں دیکھتے جن کو ہم برا قرار دیا کرتے تھے۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

And the inmates of Hell will say, ‘What is the matter with us that we see not the men[2549] whom we used to reckon among the wicked?

The reference in the words, 'the men,' is to the believers.

English - Five Volume Translation

And they will say, ‘What has happened to us that we see not the men whom we used to reckon among the wicked?[3423]

Commentary:

The reference in the word "the men" is to the believers.

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

اور وہ آپس میں کہیں گے "کیا بات ہے، ہم اُن لوگوں کو کہیں نہیں دیکھتے جنہیں ہم دنیا میں برا سمجھتے تھے؟

And they will say, "Why do we not see men whom we used to count among the worst?

اور کہیں گے کہ جن لوگوں کو ہم دنیا میں برا سمجھتے تھے ہمیں دکھائی کیوں نہیں دیتے
