4:117

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَغْفِرُ أَن يُشْرَكَ بِهِۦ وَيَغْفِرُ مَا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ ۚ وَمَن يُشْرِكْ بِٱللَّهِ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ ضَلَٰلًۢا بَعِيدًا

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

Allah will not forgive that anything be associated with Him as partner, but He will forgive what is short of that to whomsoever He pleases. And whoso associates anything as partner with Allah has indeed strayed far away.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

یقیناً اللہ معاف نہیں کرتا کہ اس کا شریک ٹھہرایا جائے اور جو اِس کے سِوا ہے معاف کر دیتا ہے جس کے لئے چاہے۔ اور جو اللہ کا شریک ٹھہرائے تو وہ یقینا دُور کی گمراہی میں بہک گیا۔

French

Allāh ne pardonnera pas qu’on Lui donne des associés, mais à part cela, Il pardonnera à qui Il veut. Et quiconque donne des associés à Allāh s’est en vérité égaré bien loin.

German

Allah wird es nicht vergeben, dass Ihm Götter zur Seite gestellt werden; doch vergibt Er das, was geringer ist als dies, wem Er will. Und wer Allah Götter zur Seite stellt, der ist fürwahr weit irregegangen.

Chinese

[a]安拉不宽恕把任何受造物作为与他同等的崇拜对象 (的罪过)。凡是较小的罪过, 他想饶恕谁, 就饶恕谁, [b]凡是把 (任何) 受造物当作与安拉一样的崇拜对象者, 他确已远离了正道。

Italian

Allah non perdonerà che alcunché venga associato a Lui, da pari, ma Egli perdonerà a chi Gli aggrada qualsiasi cosa a questo inferiore. Ma chi associ alcunché ad Allah, in verità ha deviato di molto.

Spanish

Al-lah no perdonará que se Le asocie ningún otro copartícipe, pero perdonará cualquier falta inferior a ésta a quien desee. Pues quien ponga otra cosa al nivel de Al-lah, en verdad se ha extraviado muy lejos.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اللہ اس (گناہ) کو ہرگز نہیں بخشے گا کہ اس کا (کسی کو) شریک بنایا جائے اور جو (گناہ) اس سے ادنیٰ ہوگا (اسے) جس کے حق میں چاہے گا معاف کر دے گا اور جو شخص (کسی کو) اللہ کا شریک بنائے تو (سمجھو کہ) وہ (سیدھے راستہ سے) بہت دور جا پڑا۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

اللہ کے ہاں بس شرک ہی کی بخشش نہیں ہے، اس کے سوا اور سب کچھ معاف ہوسکتا ہے جسے وہ معاف کرنا چاہے جس نے اللہ کے ساتھ کسی کو شریک ٹھیرایا وہ تو گمراہی میں بہت دور نکل گیا

English - Sahih

Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills. And he who associates others with Allah has certainly gone far astray.

بے شک الله اس کو نہیں بخشتا جو کسی کو اس کا شریک بنائے اس کے سوا جسے چاہے بخش دے اور جس نے الله کا شریک ٹھیرایا وہ بڑی دور کی گمراہی میں جا پڑا

Indeed, Allah does not forgive that partners be associated with Him, but He forgives [what] other than that for whom He wills. And whoever associates partners with Allah then surely he lost (the) way, straying far away.

English - Arberry

God forgives not that aught should be with Him associated; less than that He forgives to whomsoever He will. Whoso associates with God anything, has gone astray into far error.

English - Maududi

Truly it is only associating others with Allah in His divinity that Allah does not forgive, and forgives anything besides that to whomsoever He wills. Whoever associates others with Allah in His divinity has indeed strayed far away.

English - Ahmed Ali

God does not forgive that compeers be ascribed to Him, and absolves all else whatsoever He will. And he who associates compeers with God has indeed wandered far astray.

English - Yusuf Ali

Allah forgiveth not (The sin of) joining other gods with Him; but He forgiveth whom He pleaseth other sins than this: one who joins other gods with Allah, Hath strayed far, far away (from the right).

Lo! Allah pardoneth not that partners should be ascribed unto Him. He pardoneth all save that to whom He will. Whoso ascribeth partners unto Allah hath wandered far astray.

Surely Allah forgives not setting up partners with Him, and He forgives all besides this to whom He pleases. And whoever sets up a partner with Allah, he indeed goes far astray.
