وَلَقَدْ جَآءَكُمْ يُوسُفُ مِن قَبْلُ بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ فَمَا زِلْتُمْ فِى شَكٍّ مِّمَّا جَآءَكُم بِهِۦ ۖ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا هَلَكَ قُلْتُمْ لَن يَبْعَثَ ٱللَّهُ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ رَسُولًا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُضِلُّ ٱللَّهُ مَنْ هُوَ مُسْرِفٌ مُّرْتَابٌ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

“And Joseph did come to you before with clear proofs, but you ceased not to be in doubt concerning that with which he came to you till, when he died, you said: ‘Allah will never raise up a Messenger after him.’ Thus does Allah adjudge as lost those who transgress, and are doubters,

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور یقیناً تمہارے پاس اس سے پہلے یوسف بھی کھلے کھلے نشانات لے کر آچکا ہے مگر تم اُس بارہ میں ہمیشہ شک میں رہے ہو جو وہ تمہارے پاس لایا یہاں تک کہ جب وہ مر گیا تو تم کہنے لگے کہ اب اس کے بعد اللہ ہرگز کوئی رسول مبعوث نہیں کرے گا۔ اسی طرح اللہ حد سے بڑھنے والے (اور) شکوک میں مبتلا رہنے والے کو گمراہ ٹھہراتا ہے۔

French

Et Joseph est sûrement venu à vous auparavant avec des preuves manifestes, mais vous n’avez cessé d’être dans le doute sur ce qu’il vous avait apporté, jusqu’à lorsqu’il mourut vous dîtes : « Allāh ne suscitera jamais de Messager après lui. » Et c’est ainsi qu’Allāh déclare égaré tout transgresseur qui entretient des doutes,

Und Joseph kam ja vordem zu euch mit deutlichen Beweisen, jedoch ihr hörtet nicht auf, im Zweifel zu sein über das, womit er zu euch kam, bis ihr dann, als er starb, sprachet: "Allah wird nimmermehr einen Gesandten erstehen lassen nach ihm." Also erklärt Allah jene zu Irrenden, die maßlos (und) Zweifler sind –

在这之前, 尤素夫曾为你们带来明证, 但你们对他所带来的常抱怀疑的态度, 直到他死了的时候, 你们说: “在他之后, 安拉将永不会再派遣任何使者。”[1162]安拉就这样判定那些犯法和怀疑的人迷误。

自远古以来, 先知们一直不断地来到这个世界上。可是人们的思想如此乖张, 每当一位新的先知到来时, 他们总是拒绝和反对他; 而当他死时, 信仰他的那些人就说, 不会再有新的先知来了, 而且启示之门已永远关闭了。

E Giuseppe, in verità, venne a voi con prove chiare, ma voi non cessaste di dubitare di ciò con cui egli venne a voi, finché, dopo che morì, diceste: Allah non susciterà più un altro messaggero dopo di lui. Così Allah giudica come perduti coloro che trasgrediscono e dubitano,

“José vino a vosotros con pruebas claras, pero no dejasteis de dudar sobre aquello con lo que vino a vosotros hasta que, a su muerte, dijisteis: “Al-lah nunca suscitará un Mensajero después de él”. Así juzga Al-lah ciertamente como perdidos a los que transgreden y dudan”,

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور یوسف اس سے پہلے دلائل کے ساتھ تمہارے پاس آچکا ہے مگر تم جو کچھ وہ تمہارے پاس لایا تھا اس کے بارہ میں شک ہی میں رہے‘ یہاں تک کہ جب وہ فوت ہو گیا تو تم نے (مایوسی سے) کہنا شروع کیا کہ اللہ اس کے بعد[2] کوئی رسول مبعوث نہیں کرے گا اسی طرح اللہ ہر حد سے گذرنے والے (اور) شبہ کرنے والے کو گمراہ قرار دیتا ہے۔

جیسے مسلمان عوام رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے بعد کہتے ہیں۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

And Joseph, indeed, came to you before with clear proofs, but you ceased not to be in doubt concerning that with which he came to you till, when he died, you said, ‘Allah will never raise a Messenger after him.’[2605] Thus does Allah adjudge as having gone astray every transgressor, doubter—

Prophets have been coming in the world from time immemorial but so perverse is men’s thinking that whenever there comes a new Prophet they reject and oppose him and when he dies those who had believed in him said that no more Prophets would come and that the door of revelation is shut for ever.

English - Five Volume Translation

And Joseph did come to you before with clear proofs, but you ceased not to be in doubt concerning that with which he came to you till, when he died, you said: ‘Allah will never raise a Messenger after him.’ Thus does Allah adjudge as lost those who transgress, and are doubters—[3521]

Commentary:

The verse purports to say that Prophets have been coming in the world from time immemorial but men are so constituted that whenever a Prophet came they rejected and opposed him and when he died they said that no more Prophets would come and that the door of revelation was shut forever. This attitude of disbelievers has led to the rejection of every Prophet.

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

اس سے پہلے یوسفؑ تمہارے پاس بینات لے کر آئے تھے مگر تم اُن کی لائی ہوئی تعلیم کی طرف سے شک ہی میں پڑے رہے پھر جب اُن کا انتقال ہو گیا تو تم نے کہا اب اُن کے بعد اللہ کوئی رسول ہرگز نہ بھیجے گا" اِسی طرح اللہ اُن سب لوگوں کو گمراہی میں ڈال دیتا ہے جو حد سے گزرنے والے اور شکی ہوتے ہیں

English - Sahih

And Joseph had already come to you before with clear proofs, but you remained in doubt of that which he brought to you, until when he died, you said, 'Never will Allah send a messenger after him.' Thus does Allah leave astray he who is a transgressor and skeptic."

اور تمہارے پاس یوسف بھی اس سے پہلے واضح دلیلیں لے کر آ چکا پس تم ہمیشہ اس سے شک میں رہے جو وہ تمہارے پاس لایا یہاں تک کہ جب وہ فوت ہو گیا تو تم نےکہا کہ الله اس کے بعد کوئی رسول ہر گز نہیں بھیجے گا اسی طرح الله گمراہ کرتا ہے اس کو جو حد سے بڑھنے والا شک کرنے والا ہے

And indeed, came to you Yusuf before with clear proofs, but not you ceased in doubt about what he brought to you [with it], until when he died, you said, "Never will Allah raise after him a Messenger." Thus, Allah lets go astray who [he] (is) a transgressor, a doubter."

جیسے مسلمان عوام رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے بعد کہتے ہیں۔

English - Arberry

Joseph brought you the clear signs before, yet you continued in doubt concerning that he brought you until, when he perished, you said, "God will never send forth a Messenger after him." Even, so God leads astray the prodigal and the doubter.'

English - Maududi

Verily Joseph came to you with Clear Signs before, yet you continued to doubt his Message. Thereafter when he died, you said: 'Allah shall send no Messenger after him.'” Thus Allah leads astray those who transgress the limits and are given to much doubting;

English - Ahmed Ali

Joseph had indeed come to you before with clear proofs, but you did not cease to doubt what he had brought until he died, when you said: 'God will not send a prophet after him.' That is how God leads the waster, the sceptic astray.
