ہُوَ الَّذِیۡ یُحۡیٖ وَیُمِیۡتُ ۖ فَاِذَا قَضٰۤی اَمۡرًا فَاِنَّمَا یَقُوۡلُ لَہٗ کُنۡ فَیَکُوۡنُ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

He it is Who gives life and causes death. And when He decrees a thing, He says to it only, ‘Be!,’ and it is.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

وہی ہے جو زندہ کرتا ہے اور مارتا ہے۔ پس جب وہ کسی بات کا فیصلہ کرلیتا ہے تو محض اُسے یہ کہتا ہے کہ ”ہوجا‘ ‘ تو وہ ہونے لگتی ہے اور ہو کر رہتی ہے۔

French

C’est Lui Qui donne la vie et cause la mort. Et lorsqu’Il décrète une chose, Il ne lui dit que : « Sois, » et elle commence à être.

German

Er ist es, Der Leben gibt und Tod sendet. Und wenn Er ein Ding beschließt, so spricht Er zu ihm nur: "Sei!", und es ist.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

وہ خدا ہی ہے جو زندہ کرتا ہے اور مارتا ہے پس جب وہ کسی بات کا فیصلہ کر دیتا ہے تو اس کے بارہ میں کہتا ہے ہو جائے‘ سو وہ ہو جاتی ہے۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

[a]He it is Who gives life and causes death. [b]And when He decrees a thing, He says concerning it, ‘Be!’ and it comes into being.[2616]

It is the will and decree of God, Who gives life and causes death that a people—the Arabs—who were morally and spiritually as good as dead, should now rise to a new life through the Holy Prophet and none can thwart and frustrate Allah’s decree.

English - Five Volume Translation

Commentary:

It is the will and decree of God, Who gives life and causes death, that a people—the Arabs—who were morally and spiritually as good as dead, should now rise to a new life through the Holy Prophet; and none can thwart and frustrate His decree.

The word کن (be) does not here denote command; but expresses a desire or wish. For significance of this word see 19:36.

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

وہی ہے زندگی دینے والا، اور وہی موت دینے والا ہے وہ جس بات کا بھی فیصلہ کرتا ہے، بس ایک حکم دیتا ہے کہ وہ ہو جائے اور وہ ہو جاتی ہے

He it is who gives life and causes death; and when He decrees a matter, He but says to it, "Be," and it is.

وہی ہے جو زندہ کرتا ہے اور مارتا ہے پس جب وہ کسی امر کیا فیصلہ کرلیتا ہے تو صرف اس سے یہی کہتا ہے کو ہو جا تو وہ ہو جاتا ہے
