وَلَقَدۡ اَرۡسَلۡنَا نُوۡحًا وَّاِبۡرٰہِیۡمَ وَجَعَلۡنَا فِیۡ ذُرِّیَّتِہِمَا النُّبُوَّۃَ وَالۡکِتٰبَ ۖ فَمِنۡہُمۡ مُّہۡتَدٍ ۖ وَّکَثِیۡرٌ مِّنۡہُمۡ فٰسِقُوۡنَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And We did send Noah and Abraham, and We placed among their seed prophethood and the Book. So some of them followed the guidance, but many of them were rebellious.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور یقیناً ہم نے نوح اور ابراہیم کو (بھی) بھیجا اور دونوں کی ذرّیت میں نبوت اور کتاب (کی عطا) رکھ دی۔ پس ان میں وہ بھی تھا جو ہدایت پاگیا جبکہ ایک بڑی تعداد ان میں سے گمراہوں کی تھی۔

Et en vérité, Nous avions aussi envoyé Noé et Abraham, et Nous avions établi le prophétat – nubuwwah - parmi leur progéniture et leur avions donné le Livre. Alors certains d’entre eux ont suivi la direction, mais beaucoup d’entre eux furent rebelles.

Wir entsandten ja auch Noah und Abraham und gaben ihren Nachkommen das Prophetentum und die Schrift. Einige unter ihnen waren auf dem rechten Weg, doch viele unter ihnen waren Empörer.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور ہم نے نوح اور ابراہیم کو بھی رسول بنا کر بھیجا تھا۔ اور ان کی ذریت سے نبوت اور کتاب کو مخصوص کر دیا تھا۔ پس بعض ان میں سے ہدایت پانے والے تھے اور بہت لوگ ان میں سے فاسق تھے۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

And indeed We sent Noah and Abraham, and We placed among their seed Prophethood and the [a]Book. So some of them followed the guidance, but many of them were rebellious.

29:28.

And We did send Noah and Abraham, and We placed among their seed prophethood and the Book.[c] So some of them followed the guidance, but many of them were rebellious.[4167]

Commentary:

In the preceding verse it was mentioned that in order to make men lead useful and righteous lives and realize the object for which God has brought this universe into existence, He sent His Messengers and revealed to them guidance from Himself and supported the claims of Divine Messengers with clear and sound arguments; and He also sent down iron which is of immense value and utility to mankind. The present verse gives the names of some of those Divine Messengers. Noah is probably the first law-bearing Prophet and Abraham the progenitor of the three great peoples—Jews, Christians and Muslims. After these two Prophets, the system of prophethood continued till it found its final exponent in the Mosaic Dispensation in the person of Jesus to whom the next verse makes a pointed reference.

ہم نے نوحؑ اور ابراہیمؑ کو بھیجا اور اُن دونوں کی نسل میں نبوت اور کتاب رکھ دی پھر ان کی اولاد میں سے کسی نے ہدایت اختیار کی اور بہت سے فاسق ہو گئے

And We have already sent Noah and Abraham and placed in their descendants prophethood and scripture; and among them is he who is guided, but many of them are defiantly disobedient.

اور ہم نے نوح اور ابراھیم کو بھیجا تھا اور ہم نے ان دونوں کیاولاد میں نبوت اور کتاب رکھی تھی پس بعض تو ان میں راہِ راست پر رہے اور بہت سے ان میں سے نافرمان ہیں

And certainly We sent Nuh and Ibrahim, and We placed in their offspring Prophethood and the Scripture; and among them (is) a guided one, but most of them (are) defiantly disobediently.
