ذٰلِکَ ہُدَی اللّٰہِ یَہۡدِیۡ بِہٖ مَنۡ یَّشَآءُ مِنۡ عِبَادِہٖ ۚ وَلَوۡ اَشۡرَکُوۡا لَحَبِطَ عَنۡہُمۡ مَّا کَانُوۡا یَعۡمَلُوۡنَ
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
That is the guidance of Allah. He guides thereby those of His servants whom He pleases. And if they had worshipped aught beside Him, surely all they did would have been of no avail to them.
اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ
یہ ہے اللہ کی ہدایت جس کے ذریعہ وہ اپنے بندوں میں سے جس کی چاہتا ہے راہنمائی کرتا ہے۔ اور اگر وہ شرک کر بیٹھتے تو ان کے وہ اعمال ضائع ہو جاتے جو وہ کرتے رہے۔
French
Telle est la direction d’Allāh, par laquelle Il guide qui Il veut parmi Ses serviteurs. Et s’ils avaient donné des associés à Allāh, il est certain que tout ce qu’ils avaient fait ne leur aurait servi à rien.

Das ist der Weg Allahs; damit leitet Er von Seinen Dienern, wen Er will. Hätten sie aber anderes angebetet, wahrlich, nichts hätte ihnen all ihr Tun gefruchtet.

这就是安拉的指导方法, 他以它指导他所意欲的仆人。[b]如果他们妄作了与安拉同等的崇拜对象, 他们所有的行为, 对他们都将徒劳无功。

Questa è la guida di Allah. Con essa Egli guida quei Suoi servi che Gli piace guidare. E se essi avessero adorato qualcun altro oltre a Lui, certamente tutto il loro operato non sarebbe servito loro.
Spanish
Ésa es la guía de Al-lah. Mediante ella encamina a aquellos de sus siervos que Le place. Pero si hubiesen adorado a cualquier cosa fuera de Él, en verdad todo lo que hicieron no les habría servido de nada.
اردو تفسیرِ صغیر
اللہ کے ہدایت دینے کا یہی طریق ہے جس کے ذریعہ سے وہ اپنے بندوں میں سے جسے چاہتا ہے راہ دکھاتا ہے اور اگر وہ شرک کرتے تو جو کچھ وہ اعمال کرتے تھے ان سے ضائع ہوجاتے۔
English - Short Commentary Translation
That is the guidance of Allah. He guides thereby those of His servants whom He pleases. And [a]if they had worshipped aught beside Him, surely all they did would have been of no avail to them.

Commentary:
The verse signifies that real and true guidance is that which was given to the Prophets named in the above verses; they all preached against شرك (idol-worship). The latter part of the verse hints that these Prophets did not associate anything with God even before they were sent as Prophets; otherwise they would not have been raised to that high spiritual rank.
اردو ترجمہ مودودی
یہ اللہ کی ہدایت ہے جس کے ساتھ وہ اپنے بندوں میں سے جس کی چاہتا ہے رہنمائی کرتا ہے لیکن اگر کہیں ان لوگوں نے شرک کیا ہوتا تو ان کا سب کیا کرایا غارت ہو جاتا
English - Sahih
That is the guidance of Allah by which He guides whomever He wills of His servants. But if they had associated others with Allah, then worthless for them would be whatever they were doing.

یہ الله کی ہدایت ہے اپنے بندوں کو جسے چاہے اس پر چلاتا ہے اور اگر یہ لوگ شرک کرتے تو البتہ جو کچھ انہوں نے کیا تھا سب کچھ ضائع ہو جاتا

That (is the) Guidance (of) Allah, He guides with it whom He wills of His slaves. But if they (had) associated partners (with Allah), surely (would be) worthless for them what they used to do.

That is God's guidance; He guides by it whom He will of His servants; had they been idolaters, it would have failed them, the things they did.

That is Allah's guidance wherewith He guides those of His servants whom He wills. But if they ever associated others with Allah in His divinity, then all that they had done would have gone to waste.

This is God's guidance: He gives among His creatures whom He will. If they had associated others with Him, surely vain would have been all they did.
