64:17

فَاتَّقُوا اللّٰہَ مَا اسۡتَطَعۡتُمۡ وَاسۡمَعُوۡا وَاَطِیۡعُوۡا وَاَنۡفِقُوۡا خَیۡرًا لِّاَنۡفُسِکُمۡ ۗ وَمَنۡ یُّوۡقَ شُحَّ نَفۡسِہٖ فَاُولٰٓئِکَ ہُمُ الۡمُفۡلِحُوۡنَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

So fear Allah as best you can, and listen, and obey, and spend in His cause; it will be good for yourselves. And whoso is rid of the covetousness of his own soul — it is such who shall be successful.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

پس اللہ کا تقویٰ اختیار کرو جس حد تک تمہیں توفیق ہے اور سنو اور اطاعت کرو اور خرچ کرو (یہ) تمہارے لئے بہتر ہوگا۔اور جو نفس کی کنجوسی سے بچائے جائیں تو یہی ہیں وہ لوگ جو کامیاب ہونے والے ہیں۔

French

Craignez donc Allāh autant que vous pouvez, et écoutez, et obéissez, et dépensez pour Sa cause ; cela sera plus avantageux pour vos âmes. Et quiconque est débarrassé de sa propre avarice – ce sont ceux-là qui prospéreront.

German

So fürchtet Allah, soviel ihr nur könnt, und höret und gehorchet und spendet: es wird für euch selbst besser sein. Und wer vor seiner eigenen Habsucht bewahrt ist – das sind die Erfolgreichen.

Chinese

你们要尽力敬畏安拉, 要倾听、服从, 要 (在安拉的道上) 花费, 这对你们自己是好的。[a]凡免除自身的贪婪者, 他们将是成功的人。

59:10.

Italian

Temete dunque Allah nel modo migliore possibile, ed ascoltate e obbedite, e spendete per la Sua causa. Sarà bene per voi. E chi si salva dalla cupidigia della propria anima, costui avrà successo.

Spanish

Temed, pues, a Al-lah, lo mejor que podáis, escuchad, obedeced y gastad en Su causa; esto será bueno para vosotros. Mas quien se salve de su propia avaricia sepa que éstos los que serán bienaventurados.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

پس جتنا ہو سکے اللہ کا تقویٰ اختیار کرو‘ اور اس کی بات سنو اور اس کی اطاعت کرو‘ اور اپنے مال اس کی راہ میں خرچ کرتے رہو۔ یہ تمہاری جانوں کے لئے بہتر ہوگا اور جو لوگ اپنے دل کے بخل سے بچائے جاتے ہیں وہ کامیاب ہوتے ہیں۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

So be mindful of your duty to Allah as best you can, and listen and obey, and spend in His cause, it will be good for yourselves. [a]And whoso is rid of the covetousness of his own soul—it is they who shall succeed.

59:10.

English - Five Volume Translation

So fear Allah as best you can, and listen, and obey, and spend in His cause; it will be good for yourselves. [b]And whoso is rid of the covetousness of his own soul—it is they who shall be successful.[4266]

59:10.

Commentary:

In the preceding verse believers were told that their wealth and their children would put their mettle to test, whether they would help in promoting the cause of Truth or would prove an impediment or hindrance. In the verse under comment they are told that they should obey all the commandments of the Shari‘ah, particularly they should not be hesitant when they are called upon to make monetary sacrifice for the advancement of a good cause. Only that way lies success and prosperity.

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

لہٰذا جہاں تک تمہارے بس میں ہو اللہ سے ڈرتے رہو، اور سنو اور اطاعت کرو، اور اپنے مال خرچ کرو، یہ تمہارے ہی لیے بہتر ہے جو اپنے دل کی تنگی سے محفوظ رہ گئے بس وہی فلاح پانے والے ہیں

English - Sahih

So fear Allah as much as you are able and listen and obey and spend [in the way of Allah]; it is better for your selves. And whoever is protected from the stinginess of his soul - it is those who will be the successful.

اردو ترجمہ احمد علی

پس جہاں تک تم سے ہو سکے الله سے ڈرو اور سنو اور حکم مانو اور اپنے بھلے کے لیے خرچ کرو اورجو شخص اپنے دل کے لالچ سے محفوظ رکھا گیا سووہی فلاح بھی پانے والے ہیں

English - Talal Itani

So fear Allah what you are able and listen and obey and spend; (it is) better for yourselves. And whoever is saved (from the) greediness (of) his soul, then those [they] (are) the successful ones.

English - Arberry

So fear God as far as you are able, and give ear, and obey, and expend well for yourselves. And whosoever is guarded against the avarice of his own soul, those -- they are the prosperers.

English - Maududi

So hold Allah in awe as much as you can, and listen and obey, and be charitable. This is for your own good. And whoever remains safe from his own greediness, it is such that will prosper.

English - Ahmed Ali

So fear God as much as you can, and listen and obey, and spend in charity for your own good. He who is saved from his own avarice will be successful.

English - Yusuf Ali

So fear Allah as much as ye can; listen and obey and spend in charity for the benefit of your own soul and those saved from the covetousness of their own souls,- they are the ones that achieve prosperity.
