فَانۡتَقَمۡنَا مِنۡہُمۡ فَاَغۡرَقۡنٰہُمۡ فِی الۡیَمِّ بِاَنَّہُمۡ کَذَّبُوۡا بِاٰیٰتِنَا وَکَانُوۡا عَنۡہَا غٰفِلِیۡنَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

So We took vengeance upon them and drowned them in the sea, because they treated Our Signs as lies and were heedless of them.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

پس ہم نے اُن سے انتقام لیا اور اُنہیں سمندر میں غرق کردیا کیونکہ انہوں نے ہمارے نشانات کو جھٹلا دیا تھا اور وہ ان سے غافل تھے۔

French

Alors Nous Nous sommes vengés d’eux en les noyant dans la mer, parce qu’ils avaient traité Nos Signes de mensonges, et parce qu’ils ne s’en étaient point souciés.

Darauf straften Wir sie und ließen sie im Meer ertrinken, weil sie Unsere Zeichen als Lügen behandelten und ihrer nicht achteten.

因为他们诬罔我的迹象而加以忽视它们, 所以[b]我向他们报复(他们的恶作剧加以惩罚),并把他们淹死在海中。

Così Noi ci vendicammo di loro e li annegammo nel mare, perché consideravano i Nostri segni come menzogne, e ne erano incuranti.

Spanish

Entonces nos vengamos de ellos y los ahogamos en el mar, porque trataron Nuestros Signos como mentiras e hicieron caso omiso de ellos.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

پس ہم نے ان سے (ان کی شرارتوں کا) بدلہ لیا اور ان کو سمندر[4] میں غرق کر دیا کیوں کہ وہ ہماری آیتوں کو جھٹلاتے تھے اور ان سے غفلت برتتے تھے۔

یعنی جب وہ موسیٰ علیہ السلام کو پکڑنے کے لئے سمندر کی طرف گئے۔

So We [c]took vengeance upon them and drowned them in the sea, because they treated Our Signs as lies and were heedless of them.

Important Words:

الیم (sea) is substantive from یم or یمم. The Arabs say یم الرجل i.e. the man was thrown into the sea; or he was drowned in the sea. یم الساحلmeans, the water of the sea or the water of the river overflowed its banks. الیم means, the sea; or the sea of unknown or unreached depth; a great body of water either salt or sweet (Lisan). The Quran uses the word یم both in the sense of sea (as in the present verse) and in the sense of a great river as in 20:40. See also 7:139 below.

تب ہم نے اُن سے انتقام لیا اور انہیں سمندر میں غرق کر دیا کیونکہ انہوں نے ہماری نشانیوں کو جھٹلایا تھا اور اُن سے بے پروا ہو گئے تھے

English - Sahih

So We took retribution from them, and We drowned them in the sea because they denied Our signs and were heedless of them.

پھر ہم نے ان سے بدلہ لیا پھر ہم نے انہیں دریا میں ڈبو دیا اس لیے کہ انہوں نے ہماری آیتوں کو جھٹلایا اور وہ ان سے غافل تھے
