وَٱلَّذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِۦ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ نَصْرَكُمْ وَلَآ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَنصُرُونَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

‘And they whom you call on beside Him have no power to help you, nor can they help themselves.’

اور وہ لوگ جنہیں تم اس کے سوا پکارتے ہو وہ تمہاری مدد کی کوئی طاقت نہیں رکھتے اور نہ وہ خود اپنی مدد کر سکتے ہیں۔

Et ceux que vous invoquez à part Lui n’ont aucun pouvoir pour vous secourir, ni pour se secourir eux-mêmes. »

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور وہ لوگ جن کو تم اس کے سوا پکارتے ہو وہ نہ تو تمہاری مدد کی توفیق رکھتے ہیں اور نہ اپنی جانوں کی مدد کرتے ہیں۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

‘And [d]they whom you call on besides Him have no power to help you, nor can they help themselves;’

7:193; 21:44; 36:76.

English - Five Volume Translation

‘And [b]they whom you call on beside Him have no power to help you, nor can they help themselves.’[1082]

7:193; 21:44; 36:76.

Commentary:

The words, And they…have no power to help you, nor can they help themselves, embody the dual prophecy which foretold the discomfiture of the idolaters in their struggle against the Holy Prophet on the one hand, and the disappearance of idolatry from Arabia on the other. The prophecy was fulfilled in a very remarkable way when Mecca fell and the Ka‘bah was cleared of the idols which had been worshipped there for centuries by the Arabs as their national deities. That day the idolaters clearly realized the futility of idol-worship and embraced Islam in large numbers.

بخلاف اِس کے تم جنہیں خدا کو چھوڑ کر پکارتے ہو وہ نہ تمہاری مدد کرسکتے ہیں اور نہ خود اپنی مدد ہی کرنے کے قابل ہیں

And those you call upon besides Him are unable to help you, nor can they help themselves."
