وَإِذَا قُرِئَ ٱلْقُرْءَانُ فَٱسْتَمِعُوا۟ لَهُۥ وَأَنصِتُوا۟ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And when the Qur’an is recited, give ear to it and keep silence, that you may be shown mercy.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور جب قرآن پڑھا جائے تو اسے غور سے سنو اور خاموش رہو تاکہ تم پر رحم کیا جائے۔

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور (اے لوگو)! جب قرآن پڑھا جائے‘ تو اس کو سنا کرو اور چپ رہا کرو۔ تا کہ تم پر رحم کیا جائے۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

And [a]when the Qur’an is recited, give ear to it[1090] and keep silence, that you may be shown mercy.

17:107.

Commentary:

In answer to their demand for fresh signs disbelievers are here told to listen to the Quran carefully, because it contains signs and evidences enough and to spare. This will make them realize the error of their demand and they will see the truth and will as a result become deserving of the mercy of God.

جب قرآن تمہارے سامنے پڑھا جائے تو اسے توجہ سے سنو اور خاموش رہو، شاید کہ تم پر بھی رحمت ہو جائے"
