ٱلَّذِينَ يَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا وَهُم بِٱلْءَاخِرَةِ كَٰفِرُونَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

‘Who turn men away from the path of Allah and seek to make it crooked, and who are disbelievers in the Hereafter.’

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

جو اللہ کے راستے سے روکتے ہیں اور اسے ٹیڑھا (دیکھنا) چاہتے ہیں اور وہ آخرت کے منکر ہیں۔

French

Qui empêchent les gens de suivre la voie d’Allāh, et cherchent à la rendre tortueuse, et qui ne croient pas à l’au-delà. »

die abhalten von Allahs Weg und ihn zu krümmen suchen und die nicht an das Jenseits glauben!"

“Quienes apartan a los hombres del camino de Al-lah e intentan hacerlo tortuoso, y no creen en el Más Allá”.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

جو اللہ کے راستہ سے (لوگوں کو) روکتے تھے اور اس راستہ میں کجی تلاش کرتے تھے اور وہ ساتھ ہی بعد میں آنے والی (زندگی) کے منکر تھے۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

[a]‘Who hinder men from the path of Allah and seek to make it crooked[977] and who are disbelievers in the Hereafter.’

7:87; 11:20; 14:4; 16:89.

The expression signifies that the wrongdoers desire to corrupt true religion. They are not only themselves wicked but also try to make others like themselves and even seek to distort and tamper with religious teaching.

English - Five Volume Translation

[a]‘Who turn men away from the path of Allah and seek to make it crooked, and who are disbelievers in the Hereafter.’[945]

7:87; 11:20; 14:4; 16:89.

Commentary:

This verse defines and qualifies the "wrongdoers" mentioned in the preceding verse. The expression, and seek to make it crooked, means that the wrongdoers desire to corrupt true religion. They are not only themselves wicked, but also try to make others so, and even seek to corrupt the religion sent for their good. They also disbelieve in the Hereafter.

جو اللہ کے راستے سے لوگوں کو روکتے اور اسے ٹیڑھا کرنا چاہتے تھے اور آخرت کے منکر تھے"

Who averted [people] from the way of Allah and sought to make it [seem] deviant while they were, concerning the Hereafter, disbelievers.
