7:83

وَمَا کَانَ جَوَابَ قَوۡمِہٖۤ اِلَّاۤ اَنۡ قَالُوۡۤا اَخۡرِجُوۡہُمۡ مِّنۡ قَرۡیَتِکُمۡ ۖ اِنَّہُمۡ اُنَاسٌ یَّتَطَہَّرُوۡنَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And the answer of his people was no other than that they said, ‘Turn them out of your town, for they are men who would keep pure.’

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور اس کی قوم کا اس کے سوا کوئی جواب نہ تھا کہ انہوں نے کہا کہ ان کو اپنی بستی سے نکال باہر کرو۔ یقیناً یہ وہ لوگ ہیں جو بہت پاکباز بنتے ہیں۔

French

Et la réponse de son peuple ne fut autre que celle-ci : « Expulsez-les de votre ville, car ce sont des hommes qui veulent rester purs ! »

German

Da war die Antwort seines Volkes nichts anderes, als dass sie sprachen: "Treibt sie hinaus aus eurer Stadt, denn sie sind Leute, die sich reinsprechen möchten."

Chinese

当时, [e]他的族人只回答说: (众人啊!) “要把鲁特和他的同伴逐出你们的城镇, 他们确是夸耀自己纯洁的人。”

27:57.

Italian

Ma la risposta del suo popolo non fu altra che questa: «Cacciateli fuori dalla vostra città, perché sono uomini che si manterrebbero puri.»

Spanish

Pero la respuesta de su pueblo no consistió más que en decir: “Expulsarlos de vuestra ciudad, ya que son hombres que quieren conservarse puros”.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اس پر اس کی قوم نے صرف یہ کہا (اے لوگو)! لوط اور اس کے ساتھیوں کو شہر سے نکال دو۔ وہ ایسے لوگ ہیں جو اپنی پاکیزگی پر اتراتے ہیں۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

And [d]the only answer of his people was that they said, ‘Turn them out of your town, for they are men who take pride in their purity.’[1007]

27:57.

The opponents of Lot taunted his followers that they posed and paraded as extra righteous and holy persons.

English - Five Volume Translation

And [a]the answer of his people was no other than that they said, ‘Turn them out of your town, for they are men who would keep pure.’[981]

27:57.

Commentary:

The word یتطھرون (who would keep pure) may also signify "who affect to be pure"; because the باب (form) of تفعل is not unoften used to imply affectation. The word was used by the opponents of Lot about his followers by way of taunt, signifying that they posed and paraded as extra-righteous and holy persons.

مگر اس کی قوم کا جواب اس کے سوا کچھ نہ تھا کہ "نکالو اِن لوگوں کو اپنی بستیوں سے، بڑے پاکباز بنتے ہیں یہ"

English - Sahih

But the answer of his people was only that they said, "Evict them from your city! Indeed, they are men who keep themselves pure."

اور اس کی قوم نے کوئی جواب نہیں دیا مگر یہی کہا کہ انہیں اپنےشہر سے نکال دو یہ لوگ بہت ہی پاک بننا چاہتے ہیں

And not was (the) answer (of) his people except that they said, "Drive them out of your town. Indeed, they (are) people who keep themselves pure."

And the only answer of his people was that they said, 'Expel them from your city; surely they are folk that keep themselves clean!'

Their only answer was: 'Banish them from your town. They are a people who pretend to be pure.'
