وَاَنَّا لَا نَدۡرِیۡۤ اَشَرٌّ اُرِیۡدَ بِمَنۡ فِی الۡاَرۡضِ اَمۡ اَرَادَ بِہِمۡ رَبُّہُمۡ رَشَدًا

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

‘And we know not whether evil is intended for those who are in the earth or whether their Lord intends something good for them.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور یقیناً ہم نہیں جانتے تھے کہ کیا جو بھی زمین میں ہیں اُن کے لئے شر چاہا گیا ہے یا اُن کے ربّ نے اُن سے بھلائی کا ارادہ کیا ہے؟

French

Nous ne savons pas si le mal est destiné à ceux qui sont sur la terre, ou si leur Seigneur Se propose de bien les guider.

Wir wissen nicht, ob Böses für die beabsichtigt ist, die auf Erden sind, oder ob ihr Herr Gutes für sie im Sinne hat.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور ہم نہیں جانتے کہ اس آنے والے کے ذریعہ سے زمین میں بسنے والے لوگوں کے لئے کسی عذاب کا فیصلہ کیا گیا ہے یا ان کے لئے ان کے رب نے ہدایت دینے کا فیصلہ کیا ہے۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

‘And we know not whether evil is intended for those who are in the earth, or whether their Lord intends to bestow guidance upon them,

English - Five Volume Translation

And we know not whether evil is intended for those who are in the earth or whether their Lord intends guidance for them.[4404]

Commentary:

Whereas before the appearance of a Divine Reformer, soothsayers and diviners ply their evil trade of prying into the unknown with impunity, with the appearance of such a one they practically confess their lack of knowledge of the unseen by giving up their evil practices. It is not given to these people to foretell what great changes in the world are decreed to take place. On the other hand, only God’s great Messengers can foretell the future.

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

اور یہ کہ "ہماری سمجھ میں نہ آتا تھا کہ آیا زمین والوں کے ساتھ کوئی برا معاملہ کرنے کا ارادہ کیا گیا ہے یا اُن کا رب اُنہیں راہ راست دکھانا چاہتا ہے"

English - Sahih

And we do not know [therefore] whether evil is intended for those on earth or whether their Lord intends for them a right course.

اورہم نہیں جانتے کہ زمین والوں کے ساتھ نقصان کا ارادہ کیا گیا ہےیا ان کی نسبت ان کے رب نےراہ راست پر لانے کا ارادہ کیا ہے
