ذَٰلِكُمْ فَذُوقُوهُ وَأَنَّ لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

That is your punishment, taste it then; and know that for disbelievers there is the punishment of the Fire.

یہ ہے (تمہاری پاداش) پس اسے چکھو اور (جان لو) کہ یقیناً کافروں کے لئے آگ کا عذاب ہے۔

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

(اے لوگو)! (سنو! اللہ کی سزا) ایسی ہی ہوتی ہے پس اسے چکھو اور (یاد رکھو کہ) کافروں کو یقیناً آگ کا عذاب پہنچنے والا ہے۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

[a]That is your punishment, taste it then; and remember that for disbelievers there is the punishment of the Fire.

22:23; 34:43.

[a]That is your punishment, taste it then; and know that for disbelievers there is the punishment of the Fire.[1104]

Commentary:

In this verse God refers to two punishments for disbelievers, one in this life, and the other in the life to come. When the threat with regard to the punishment of this life had come to pass, it was quite reasonable to expect that the threat with regard to the punishment in the next life would also come to pass. Similarly, God had made two promises to believers: firstly, the promise of victory and success in this life; secondly, the promise of bliss in the life to come. When the former had been fulfilled in a most amazing manner, the latter would also be similarly fulfilled.

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

یہ ہے تم لوگوں کی سزا، اب اس کا مزا چکھو، اور تمہیں معلوم ہو کہ حق کا انکار کرنے والوں کے لیے دوزخ کا عذاب ہے

English - Sahih

"That [is yours], so taste it." And indeed for the disbelievers is the punishment of the Fire.

یہ تو چکھ لو اور جان لو کہ بے شک کافروں کے لیے دوزخ کا عذاب ہے

English - Talal Itani

That - "So taste it." And that, for the disbelievers (is the) punishment (of) the Fire.
