وَاِذَا مَرُّوۡا بِہِمۡ یَتَغَامَزُوۡنَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And when they passed by them, they winked at one another.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور جب اُن کے پاس سے گزرتے تھے تو باہم اشارے کرتے تھے۔

Et lorsqu’ils passaient près d’eux, ils se faisaient des clins d’oeil les uns aux autres,

und wenn sie an ihnen vorübergingen, blinzelten sie einander zu;

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور جب ان کے پاس سے گذرتے تھے تو ایک دوسرے کو آنکھ سے اشارے کیا کرتے تھے۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

And when they passed by them, they winked at one another,

English - Five Volume Translation

And when they passed by them, they winked at one another.[4640]

Important Words:

یتغامزون (they winked at one another in mockery) is derived from غمز. They say غمزہ بالعین i.e. he made a sign to him with the eye. تغامزوا means, they made signs to one another with their eyes, eyebrows, hands, indicating something blameable and faulty (Lane).

جب اُن کے پاس سے گزرتے تو آنکھیں مار مار کر اُن کی طرف اشارے کرتے تھے
