[1] وَقَاهُ ٱللّٰهُ السُّوْءَ God preserved him from evil. (Msb.) See a verse cited voce نَقَشَ. ― 2-b2- وَقَاكَ اللّٰهُ كُلَّ مَحْذُور God preserve thee from all fear: see مَحْذُورٌ. ― 2-b3- قِ, or قِهْ, and تَوَقَّ, are imperatives [meaning Be thou cautious]. (JK.) ― 2-b4- قِ عَلَى ظَلْعِكَ: see ظَلَعَ. ― 2-b5- وَقَاهُ and ↓ اِتَّقَاهُ both signify He was cautious of it; syn. حَذِرَهُ. (K.)

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

That is so. And whoso respects the sacred Signs of Allah — that indeed proceeds from the righteousness of hearts.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

یہ (اہم بات ہے) اور جو کوئی شعائراللہ کو عظمت دے گا تو یقیناً یہ بات دلوں کے تقویٰ کی علامت ہے۔

French

Il en est ainsi. Et quiconque honore les Signes sacrés d’Allāh – cela émane assurément de la piété des cœurs.

German

Das (ist so). Und wer die Zeichen Allahs ehrt – das rührt wahrlich von der Rechtschaffenheit der Herzen her.

Chinese

真理是这样的: [a]凡尊敬安拉的神圣迹象者, 这确是出自内心的敬畏。[862]

2:159.

这节经文说明, 伊斯兰教一切经律和命令的目的是反复灌输心灵的敬畏和纯洁。一切伊斯兰教的典礼朝拜活动都只是引到这一至高无上的目标的手段。

Questo è così. E chiunque rispetti i sacri segni di Allah, ciò in verità proviene dalla rettitudine dei cuori.

Así es. Mas quien respeta los Signos sagrados de Al-lah, sepa que ello proviene, en verdad, de la piedad de los corazones.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

حقیقت یہ ہے کہ جو شخص اللہ کی مقرر کردہ نشانیوں کی عزت کرے گا اس (کے اس فعل) کو دلوں کا تقویٰ قرار دیا جائے گا۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

The truth is that [a]whoso honours the sacred Signs of Allah—that, indeed, proceeds from the righteousness of hearts.[1950]

2:159.

The verse implies that the object underlying all the commandments and ordinances of Islam is to inculcate righteousness and purity of heart. All Islamic rites and acts of worship are only means that lead to this supreme goal.

English - Five Volume Translation

That is so. [a]And whoso honours the sacred Signs of Allah—that indeed proceeds from the righteousness of hearts.[2463]

2:159.

Commentary:

For شعائر اللّٰه see 2:159 & 5:3. The verse implies that the object underlying all the commandments and ordinances of Islam is to inculcate righteousness and purity of heart. All Islamic rites and acts of worship are only means that lead to this supreme goal.

یہ ہے اصل معاملہ (اسے سمجھ لو)، اور جو اللہ کے مقرر کردہ شعائر کا احترام کرے تو یہ دلوں کے تقویٰ سے ہے

That [is so]. And whoever honors the symbols of Allah - indeed, it is from the piety of hearts.

بات یہی ہے اور جو شخص الله کی نامزد چیزوں کی تعظیم کرتا ہے سو یہ دل کی پرہیز گاری ہے

That, and whoever honors (the) Symbols (of) Allah then indeed, it (is) from (the) piety (of) the hearts.

All that; and whosoever venerates God's waymarks, that is of the godliness of the hearts.

Such is the fact. And whoso venerates the sanctity of all that have been ordained as symbols of Allah surely does so because it is part of the true piety of the hearts.
