وَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ إِذْ أَنتُمْ قَلِيلٌ مُّسْتَضْعَفُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ تَخَافُونَ أَن يَتَخَطَّفَكُمُ ٱلنَّاسُ فَـَٔاوَىٰكُمْ وَأَيَّدَكُم بِنَصْرِهِۦ وَرَزَقَكُم مِّنَ ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
And remember the time when you were few and deemed weak in the land, and were in fear lest people should snatch you away, but He sheltered you and strengthened you with His help, and provided you with good things that you might be thankful.
اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ
اور یاد کرو جب تم بہت تھوڑے تھے (اور) زمین میں کمزور شمار کئے جاتے تھے (اور) ڈرا کرتے تھے کہ کہیں لوگ تمہیں اُچک نہ لے جائیں تو اس نے تمہیں پناہ دی اور اپنی نصرت سے تمہاری تائید کی اور تمہیں پاکیزہ چیزوں میں سے رزق دیا تاکہ تم شکرگزار بنو۔

Et souvenez-vous quand vous étiez peu nombreux et considérés comme faibles sur la terre et que vous craigniez que des hommes ne vous enlèvent ; mais Il vous abrita et vous fortifia de Son aide, et vous approvisionna en de bonnes choses, afin que vous fussiez reconnaissants.

اور یاد کرو جب کہ تم تھوڑے تھے اور زمین میں کمزور سمجھے جاتے تھے اور ڈرتے تھے کہ لوگ تم کو اچک کر نہ لے جائیں۔ پھر باوجود اس کے اس نے تم کو (مدینہ میں) جگہ دی اور اپنی مدد سے تمہاری تائید کی اور پاک چیزوں سے تمہیں رزق بخشا تا کہ تم شکر کرو۔

Muslims are here told that as God had saved them when they were weak in the land and were surrounded by strong and mischievous people, so they should strive to protect the weak when they are in power. The verse implies a prophecy that Muslims will soon attain political power.

Commentary:
Muslims are here told that as God saved them when they were weak in the land and were surrounded by wicked and mischievous people, so they should strive to save those who are weak and surrounded by dangers. The verse also hints that as Muslims will soon prosper and attain power, they should never forget the days of hardships through which they have passed, i.e. in the days of their power, they should never oppress the weak creatures of God but should always treat them with justice and mercy.

یاد کرو وہ وقت جبکہ تم تھوڑے تھے، زمین میں تم کو بے زور سمجھا جاتا تھا، تم ڈرتے رہتے تھے کہ کہیں لوگ تمہیں مٹا نہ دیں پھر اللہ نے تم کو جائے پناہ مہیا کر دی، اپنی مدد سے تمہارے ہاتھ مضبُوط کیے اور تمہیں اچھا رزق پہنچایا، شاید کہ تم شکر گزار بنو

And remember when you were few and oppressed in the land, fearing that people might abduct you, but He sheltered you, supported you with His victory, and provided you with good things - that you might be grateful.

Commentary:
Muslims are here told that as God saved them when they were weak in the land and were surrounded by wicked and mischievous people, so they should strive to save those who are weak and surrounded by dangers.
