[aor.
فَسُحَ ,] inf. n. فُسَاحَةٌ, (L,) or فَسَاحَةٌ [for which
the former is app. a mistranscription] and فُسْحَةٌ,
(MA,) It (a place) was, or became, spacious,
roomy, wide, or ample; (MA, Msb, K;) as also
↓ افسح, (Msb, K,) and ↓ تفسّح, and ↓ انفسح. (K.) ＝
1-A2- فَسَحَ لَهُ, (S, MA, Msb, K,) aor.
فَسَحَ , (Msb, K,)
inf. n. فَسْحٌ (MA, Msb, TA) and فُسُوحٌ; (TA;)
as also ↓ تفسّح, (A, K,) and ↓ افسح; (A;) He
made room, or ample room, for him, (S, MA,
Msb, K,) فِى المَجْلِسِ (S, MA, Msb) in the
sitting-place, or in the assembly. (MA.) You
say, تَفَسَّحُوا ↓ فِى المَجْلِسِ, (S, Msb, *) and
↓ تَفَا سَحُوا, (S, K,) Make ye room, or ample space,
[in the sitting-place, or in the assembly,] syn.
تَوَسَّعُوا: (S, K:) both of these verbs have nearly
the same signification: [each may be rendered,
but the latter more properly, make ye room, or
ample space, one for another:] the latter occurs,
accord. to the reading of El-Hasan, and the former
accord. to that of others, in the Kur lviii. 12. (Fr,
TA.) ―
2-b2- And اِفْسَحْ عَنِّى Remove thou, withdraw,
or retire to a distance, from me. (Ksh and Bd in
lviii. 12.) ―
2-b3- فَسْحٌ [as inf. n. of فَسَحَ] also signifies The making wide steps; and so فَيْسَحَى.
(K.) [Hence,] اِفْسَحِ الخُطَى, said by an Arab
of the Desert, of the Benoo-'Okeyl, to one who
was sewing for him a water-skin, and mentioned
in the T, as heard by its author, meaning (assumed tropical:) Make
wide the spaces between each two punctures of the
needle, lest the punctures should rend. (L.) ―
2-b4-
And فَسَحَ لَهُ الأَمِيرُ فِى السَّفَرِ means The commander, or governor, wrote for him a فَسْح
[q. v.]. (K.)

یٰۤاَیُّہَا الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡۤا اِذَا قِیۡلَ لَکُمۡ تَفَسَّحُوۡا فِی الۡمَجٰلِسِ فَافۡسَحُوۡا یَفۡسَحِ اللّٰہُ لَکُمۡ ۖ وَاِذَا قِیۡلَ انۡشُزُوۡا فَانۡشُزُوۡا یَرۡفَعِ اللّٰہُ الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا مِنۡکُمۡ وَالَّذِیۡنَ اُوۡتُوا الۡعِلۡمَ دَرَجٰتٍ ۚ وَاللّٰہُ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُوۡنَ خَبِیۡرٌ
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
O ye who believe! when it is said to you, ‘Make room!’ in your assemblies, then do make room; Allah will make ample room for you. And when it is said, ‘Rise up!’ then rise up; Allah will raise those who believe from among you, and those to whom knowledge is given, to degrees of rank. And Allah is Well-Aware of what you do.
اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ
اے لوگو جو ایمان لائے ہو! جب تمہیں یہ کہا جائے کہ مجلسوں میں (دوسروں کے لئے) جگہ کھلی کردیا کرو تو کھلی کردیا کرو، اللہ تمہیں کشادگی عطا کرے گا۔ اور جب کہا جائے کہ اُٹھ جاؤ تو اُٹھ جایا کرو۔ اللہ ان لوگوں کے درجات بلند کرے گا جو تم میں سے ایمان لائے ہیں اور خصوصاً ان کے جن کو علم عطا کیا گیا ہے اور اللہ اُس سے جو تم کرتے ہو ہمیشہ باخبر رہتا ہے۔
French
Ô vous qui croyez ! lorsqu’on vous dit : « Faites place ! » dans vos réunions, alors faites place ; Allāh fera amplement de la place pour vous. Et lorsqu’on dit : « Levez-vous ! » alors levez-vous ; Allāh élèvera à des rangs éminents ceux d’entre vous qui croient, et ceux à qui la connaissance a été donnée. Et Allāh est Très-Conscient de ce que vous faites.

O die ihr glaubt, wenn in Versammlungen zu euch gesprochen wird: "Macht Platz!" – dann macht Platz; Allah wird ausgiebigen Platz für euch machen. Und wenn gesprochen wird: "Erhebt euch!" – dann erhebt euch; Allah wird die unter euch, die gläubig sind, und die, denen Wissen gegeben ward, in Rängen erhöhen. Und Allah ist wohl kundig dessen, was ihr tut.

O voi che credete! Quando vi si dice: «Fate spazio» nelle vostre assemblee, fate dunque spazio. Allah farà grande spazio a voi. E quando si dice: «Alzatevi», alzatevi, dunque. Allah innalzerà quelli che credono tra di voi, e coloro ai quali è data conoscenza, a gradi di rango. E Allah è ben Consapevole di quello che fate.

¡Oh vosotros, los creyentes! Cuando se os dice: “¡Haced sitio!” en vuestras reuniones, haced sitio; Al-lah os hará un sitio amplio. Y Cuando se dice: “¡Levantaos y partid!”, entonces levantaos; Al-lah elevará a los creyentes de entre vosotros y a quienes se les dé el conocimiento, a grados de dignidad. Pues Al-lah conoce muy bien lo que hacéis.
اردو تفسیرِ صغیر
اے مومنو! جب تم سے یہ کہا جائے کہ مجالس میں کھل کر بیٹھ جاؤ‘ تو کھل کر بیٹھ جایا کرو۔ اللہ بھی تمہارے لئے کشادگی کے سامان پیدا کرے گا۔ اور جب تمہیں کہا جائے کہ اٹھ جاؤ تو اٹھ جایا کرو۔ اللہ ان کو جو کہ مومن ہیں اور علم حقیقی رکھنے والے ہیں درجات میں بڑھا دے گا اور اللہ تمہارے اعمال سے خوب خبردار ہے۔

O ye who believe! when it is said to you, ‘Make room in your assemblies,’ then do make room; Allah will make ample room for you. And when it is said, ‘Rise up’[3008] then rise up; Allah will raise those who believe from among you, and those whom knowledge is given, to degrees of rank. And Allah is Well-Aware of what you do.
As in the preceding verses the subject of holding an assembly was dealt with, it was in the fitness of things that its ethics and etiquette should also have been pointed out and this has been done in the present verse.

Commentary:
As in the preceding verses the subject of holding an assembly was dealt with, it was in the fitness of things that the ethics and etiquette of an assemblage should also be pointed out and this has been done in the present verse.
The commandment contained in the verse is of a general nature but it may also have special application for a particular assembly in which the Holy Prophet was present.

اے لوگو جو ایمان لائے ہو، جب تم سے کہا جائے کہ اپنی مجلسوں میں کشادگی پیدا کرو تو جگہ کشادہ کر دیا کرو، اللہ تمہیں کشادگی بخشے گا اور جب تم سے کہا جائے کہ اٹھ جاؤ تو اٹھ جایا کرو تم میں سے جو لوگ ایمان رکھنے والے ہیں اور جن کو علم بخشا گیا ہے، اللہ ان کو بلند درجے عطا فرمائے گا، اور جو کچھ تم کرتے ہو اللہ کو اس کی خبر ہے
English - Sahih
O you who have believed, when you are told, "Space yourselves" in assemblies, then make space; Allah will make space for you. And when you are told, "Arise," then arise; Allah will raise those who have believed among you and those who were given knowledge, by degrees. And Allah is Acquainted with what you do.

اے ایمان والو جب تمہیں مجلسوں میں کھل کر بیٹھنے کو کہا جائے تو کھل کر بیٹھو الله تمیں فراخی دے گا اور جب کہا جائے کہ اٹھ جاؤ تو اٹھ جاؤ تم میں سے الله ایمان داروں کے اور ان کے جنہیں علم دیا گیا ہے درجے بلند کرے گا اور جو کچھ تم کرتے ہواللہ اس سے خبردار ہے

O believers, when it is said to you 'Make room in the assemblies', then make room, and God will make room for you; and when it is said, 'Move up', move up, and God will raise up in rank those of you who believe and have been given knowledge. And God is aware of the things you do.

Believers, when you are told: “Make room for one another in your assemblies,” then make room; Allah will bestow amplitude on you. And when it is said: “Rise up,” then rise up; Allah will raise to high ranks those of you who believe and are endowed with knowledge. Allah is well aware of all that you do.
