اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

بلکہ ان سے انقلاب کی گھڑی کا وعدہ کیا گیا ہے۔ اور وہ گھڑی بہت سخت اور بہت کڑوی ہوگی۔

Oui, sûrement, l’Heure est leur terme désigné ; et l’Heure sera des plus désastreuses et des plus amères.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

بلکہ ان کی تباہی کی گھڑی کا وعدہ کیا گیا ہے اور وہ وعدہ کی گھڑی بہت زیادہ ہلاک کرنے والی اور سخت ہوگی۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

Aye, the Hour is their promised time; and the Hour will be most calamitous for them and most bitter.

English - Five Volume Translation

Aye, the Hour is their appointed time; and the Hour will be most calamitous and most bitter.[4035]

Important Words:

أدھٰی (most calamitous) is derived from دھٰی. They say مادھاک i.e. what has befallen thee. The Arabs say دھته داھیة i.e. acalamity befell him. أدھٰی means, more or most calamitous (Lane & Aqrab).

Commentary:

The defeat at Badr was indeed a most formidable and calamitous misfortune for the Quraish. Their power and prestige sustained a crushing blow. Most of their leaders and prominent chiefs were killed. Having suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of a handful of inexperienced and ill-equipped Muslims, they felt deeply humiliated and mortified. The prophecy was fulfilled to the very letter.

The الساعة (Hour) mentioned in this and the opening verse of the Surah refers to the Battle of Badr.

بلکہ اِن سے نمٹنے کے لیے اصل وعدے کا وقت تو قیامت ہے اور وہ بڑی آفت اور زیادہ تلخ ساعت ہے
