حقیقت یہ ہے کہ میں اس شخص سے بہتر ہوں جو بالکل بے حیثیت ہے اور اظہارِبیان کی بھی طاقت نہیں رکھتا۔

Non mais, en vérité je suis meilleur que cet individu qui est digne de mépris, et n’est guère capable de s’exprimer distinctement.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

کیا میں اس شخص سے جو ذلیل ہے اور کھول کر بات بھی نہیں کر سکتا اچھا ہوں (یا وہ اچھا ہے؟)

English - Short Commentary Translation

‘Nay, I am better than this despicable fellow who can scarcely express himself clearly.

Nay, I am better than this fellow who is despicable and can scarcely express himself clearly.[3676]

Commentary:

Pharaoh met Moses’ invitation to accept his Message by telling his people that being a mighty monarch he was infinitely more deserving of their allegiance than a despicable man like Moses who could not properly express himself.

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

میں بہتر ہوں یا یہ شخص جو ذلیل و حقیر ہے اور اپنی بات بھی کھول کر بیان نہیں کر سکتا؟

Or am I [not] better than this one who is insignificant and hardly makes himself clear?

کیا میں اس سے بہتر نہیں ہوں جو ذلیل ہے اور صاف صاف بات بھی نہیں کر سکتا

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور تو اس کی بات کبھی نہ مان جو قسمیں کھاتا ہے (لیکن خدا کی طرف سے مدد نہ ملنے کے باعث) وہ[1] ذلیل (کا ذلیل ہی) رہتا ہے۔

یعنی گواہی کا طریق عقل اور شریعت نے مقرر کر دیا ہے۔ جو شخص خلافِ عقل طور پر اپنی بات کو سچا بنانے کے لئے قسمیں کھاتا ہے لیکن خدا کا فعل اسے ذلیل ہی کرتا جاتا ہے وہ لاکھ قسمیں کھائے اس کی بات کو نہیں ماننا چاہیے۔
