وَدَخَلَ مَعَهُ ٱلسِّجْنَ فَتَيَانِ ۖ قَالَ أَحَدُهُمَآ إِنِّىٓ أَرَىٰنِىٓ أَعْصِرُ خَمْرًا ۖ وَقَالَ ٱلْءَاخَرُ إِنِّىٓ أَرَىٰنِىٓ أَحْمِلُ فَوْقَ رَأْسِى خُبْزًا تَأْكُلُ ٱلطَّيْرُ مِنْهُ ۖ نَبِّئْنَا بِتَأْوِيلِهِۦٓ ۖ إِنَّا نَرَىٰكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And with him there entered the prison two young men. One of them said, ‘I saw myself in a dream pressing wine.’ And the other said, ‘I saw myself in a dream carrying upon my head bread of which the birds are eating. Inform us of the interpretation thereof; for we see thee to be of the righteous.’

اور اس کے ساتھ قید خانہ میں دو نوجوان بھی داخل ہوئے۔ ان میں سے ایک نے کہا کہ یقیناً میں (رؤیا میں) اپنے آپ کو دیکھتا ہوں کہ میں شراب بنانے کی خاطر رَس نچوڑ رہا ہوں اور دوسرے نے کہا کہ میں (رؤیا میں) اپنے آپ کو دیکھتا ہوں کہ اپنے سر پر روٹیاں اٹھائے ہوئے ہوں جس میں سے پرندے کھا رہے ہیں۔ ہمیں ان کی تعبیر سے مطلع کر۔ یقیناً ہم تجھے احسان کرنے والے لوگوں میں سے دیکھ رہے ہیں۔

French

Et avec lui deux jeunes hommes entrèrent en prison. L’un d’entre eux dit : « Je me suis vu en songe pressant du vin. » Et l’autre dit : « Je me suis vu en songe portant sur ma tête du pain dont se nourrissaient des oiseaux. Renseigne-nous sur l’interprétation de cela ; car nous voyons que tu es du nombre des vertueux. »

Es kamen mit ihm zwei Jünglinge ins Gefängnis. Der eine von ihnen sprach: "Ich sehe mich Wein auspressen." Und der andere sprach: "Ich sehe mich auf meinem Kopfe Brot tragen, von dem die Vögel fressen. Verkünde uns die Deutung hiervon, denn wir sehen, dass du der Rechtschaffenen einer bist."

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور قید خانہ میں اس کے ساتھ دو اور جوان (بھی) داخل ہوئے جن میں سے ایک نے (تو اس سے یہ) کہا (کہ) میں (خواب میں) اپنے آپ کو (اس حالت میں) دیکھتا ہوں کہ میں انگور نچوڑ رہا ہوں۔ اور دوسرے نے کہا (کہ) میں (خواب میں) اپنے آپ کو (اس حالت میں) دیکھتا ہوں کہ میں اپنے سر پر روٹیاں اٹھائے ہوئے ہوں جن میں سے پرندے کھا رہے ہیں (اور ان دونوں نے اس سے کہا کہ) آپ ہمیں اس کی حقیقت سے آگاہ کریں۔ ہم آپ کو یقیناً نیکو کاروں میں سے سمجھتے ہیں۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

And with him there entered the prison two young men. One of them said, ‘I see myself in a dream pressing wine.’ And the other said, ‘I see myself in a dream carrying upon my head bread of which the birds are eating.[1382] Inform us of the interpretation thereof; for we see thee to be of the righteous.’

English - Five Volume Translation

And with him there entered the prison two young men. One of them said, ‘I see myself in a dream pressing wine.’ And the other said, ‘I see myself in a dream carrying upon my head bread of which the birds are eating. Inform us of the interpretation thereof; for we see thee to be of the righteous.’[1540]

Commentary:

The expression معه (with him) does not necessarily mean that the two youths were sent to prison with Joseph at the same time. It only means that they were kept in the same prison with him.

The dreams of the butler and the baker are given in detail in Genesis (chap. 40), but their substance is the same as given in the Quran. The fact that they asked Joseph the interpretation of their dreams shows that he was held in very high esteem in the prison for his piety; for it is only from highly spiritual and pious persons that men ask the interpretation of their dreams. His two fellow-prisoners pay a further tribute to Joseph’s piety in the words, we see thee to be of the righteous.

قید خانہ میں دو غلام اور بھی اس کے ساتھ داخل ہوئے ایک روز اُن میں سے ایک نے اُس سے کہا "میں نے خواب میں دیکھا ہے کہ میں شراب کشید کر رہا ہوں" دوسرے نے کہا "میں نے دیکھا کہ میرے سر پر روٹیاں رکھی ہیں اور پرندے ان کو کھا رہے ہیں" دونوں نے کہا "ہمیں اس کی تعبیر بتائیے، ہم دیکھتے ہیں کہ آپ ایک نیک آدمی ہیں"

English - Sahih

And there entered the prison with him two young men. One of them said, "Indeed, I have seen myself [in a dream] pressing wine." The other said, "Indeed, I have seen myself carrying upon my head [some] bread, from which the birds were eating. Inform us of its interpretation; indeed, we see you to be of those who do good."

And with Joseph two other slaves entered the prison. One of them said: "I saw myself pressing wine in a dream"; and the other said: "I saw myself carrying bread on my head of which the birds were eating." Both said: "Tell us what is its interpretation; for we consider you to be one of those who do good."
