وَاِذَا بُشِّرَ اَحَدُہُمۡ بِالۡاُنۡثٰی ظَلَّ وَجۡہُہٗ مُسۡوَدًّا وَّہُوَ کَظِیۡمٌ
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
And when to one of them is conveyed the tidings of the birth of a female, his face darkens, while he suppresses his inward grief.
اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ
اور جب ان میں سے کسی کو لڑکی کی بشارت دی جائے تو اس کا چہرہ غم سے سیاہ پڑ جاتا ہے اور وہ (اسے) ضبط کرنے کی کوشش کررہا ہوتا ہے۔
French
Et lorsqu’on apporte à l’un d’entre eux la nouvelle de la naissance d’une fille, son visage s’assombrit, en raison de ce chagrin intérieur qu’il refoule.

Und wenn einem von ihnen die Nachricht von (der Geburt) einer Tochter gebracht wird, so verfinstert sich sein Gesicht, indes er den inneren Schmerz unterdrückt.

اور (اس کے مقابل پر ان کا یہ حال ہے کہ) جب ان میں سے کسی کو لڑکی (کی پیدائش) کی خبر مل جائے تو اس کا منہ سیاہ ہو جاتا ہے اور وہ نہایت رنجیدہ ہوتا ہے۔
English - Short Commentary Translation
And [c]when to one of them is conveyed the tidings of the birth of a female, his face darkenss[1552A] with inward suppressed grief;
43:18.
Iswadda Wajhu-hu means, his face became black, i.e. his face became expressive of grief or overcast with gloom; he became grieved, sorrowful or confounded; he became disgraced (Lane).

جب اِن میں سے کسی کو بیٹی کے پیدا ہونے کی خوش خبری دی جاتی ہے تو اُس کے چہرے پر کلونس چھا جاتی ہے اور وہ بس خون کا سا گھونٹ پی کر رہ جاتا ہے

اور جب ان میں سے کسی کو اس کی خوشخبری دی جاتی ہے جسے وہ رحمان کے تعلق میں ایک اعلیٰ مثال کے طور پر پیش کرتا ہے تو اس کا منہ کالا ہو جاتا ہے جبکہ وہ سخت غم کو ضبط کرنے کی کوشش کر رہا ہوتا ہے۔

اور حال یہ ہے کہ جس اولاد کو یہ لوگ اُس خدائے رحمان کی طرف منسوب کرتے ہیں اُس کی ولادت کا مژدہ جب خود اِن میں سے کسی کو دیا جاتا ہے تو اُس کے منہ پر سیاہی چھا جاتی ہے اور وہ غم سے بھر جاتا ہے
