وَقَالَ ٱلْمَلِكُ ٱئْتُونِى بِهِۦٓ أَسْتَخْلِصْهُ لِنَفْسِى ۖ فَلَمَّا كَلَّمَهُۥ قَالَ إِنَّكَ ٱلْيَوْمَ لَدَيْنَا مَكِينٌ أَمِينٌ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And the King said, ‘Bring him to me that I may take him specially for myself.’ And when he had spoken to him, he said, ‘Thou art this day a man of established position and trust with us.’

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور بادشاہ نے کہا اسے میرے پاس لے آؤ میں اسے اپنے لئے چُن لوں۔ پھر جب وہ اس سے ہم کلام ہوا تو کہا یقیناً آج (سے) تُو ہمارے حضور بہت تمکنت والا (اور) قابلِ اعتماد ہے۔

Et le Roi dit : « Amenez-le-moi pour que je le prenne à mon service particulier. » Et après avoir conversé avec lui, il dit : « Tu as à partir d’aujourd’hui une position établie et de confiance auprès de nous. »

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور بادشاہ نے حکم دیا کہ اس کو (یعنی یوسف کو) میرے پاس لاؤ‘ تا کہ میں اسے اپنے (خاص کاموں کے) لئے منتخب کرلوں جب (یوسف آئے اور) اس نے (یعنی بادشاہ نے) اس سے بات چیت کی تو (ان کو ہر طرح قابل پا کر یوں) بولا کہ تو آج (سے) ہمارے ہاں معزز مرتبہ والا (اور) قابل اعتماد آدمی (شمار) ہوگا۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

And the King said, ‘Bring him to me that I may take him specially for my own person. And when he had spoken to him, he said, ‘Thou art this day a person of established position and trust with us.’

English - Five Volume Translation

And the King said, ‘Bring him to me that I may take him specially for myself.’ And when he had spoken to him, he said, ‘Thou art this day a man of established position and trust with us.’[1558]

Commentary:

In the words, I may take him specially for myself, the King seems to administer a veiled rebuke to Potiphar, hinting that, whereas he (Potiphar) had failed to treat with honour a man like Joseph, he himself would now bestow on him the honour he deserved by admitting him to his special favour. This was the attitude of the King before he had spoken to Joseph. But when he had talked with him, he became still more enamoured of him and hastened to confer high rank upon him. In the Bible we read: And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, "According unto thy word shall all people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou"… "and he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had" (Gen. 41:40-43).

بادشاہ نے کہا "اُنہیں میرے پاس لاؤ تاکہ میں ان کو اپنے لیے مخصوص کر لوں" جب یوسفؑ نے اس سے گفتگو کی تو اس نے کہا "اب آپ ہمارے ہاں قدر و منزلت رکھتے ہیں اور آپ کی امانت پر پورا بھروسا ہے"

English - Sahih

And the king said, "Bring him to me; I will appoint him exclusively for myself." And when he spoke to him, he said, "Indeed, you are today established [in position] and trusted."

اور بادشاہ نے کہا کہ اسے میرے پاس لے آؤ تاکہ اسے خاص اپنے پاس رکھوں پھر جب اس سے بات چیت کی کہا بے شک تو آج سے ہمارے ہاں تو بڑا معزز اور معتبر ہے

The king said, 'Bring him to me! I would attach him to my person.' Then, when he had spoken with him, he said, 'Today thou art established firmly in our favour and in our trust.'

The king said: "Bring him to me. I will select him exclusively for my own service." So when Joseph spoke to him the king said: "You are now one of established position, fully-trusted by us."

When the king heard this he said: "Bring him to me. I shall take him in my special service." When he had talked to him, he said: "Today you are established in a rank of trust with us."
